Chapter 9: Nobody

I moved closer to her, she looked taken aback after knowing that I was listening to her conversation. I picked up her phone, disconnected the call and placed it on the nearby table.
As I moved closer to her, I observed her features to see that her face was still wet from tears, she has red swollen eyes and dark circles.
Her Uncles words rang in my head “She is too young for all this Mess” the old man was right after all.
Looking at her in her eyes, I moved even closer. I just wanted to hold her, console her. As I took her in a warm hug, it felt so right. I closed my eyes running my lips on her neck, taking in her scent. I was just about to kiss her.
In a swift movement, she pushed me away. She moved even farther and looked away.
What? I angrily growled by her behaviour.
“I don’t want to do this she said”
I asked, “Last time when I kissed you, You behaved like a perfect little slut What happened now.?”
She looked even more astounded by my question. Anger brimming in her face she said “Get out of my room”
“This is my pack, my house, my room; you are nobody, nobody to tell me what to do” I screamed at her.
I picked her phone, crushed it into pieces and trashed it on the wall before walking out from there.
By the time I was out of her room, I don’t know why I was angry, by my own behaviour or her attitude. So I decided to stay away from these feelings.
Before leaving to the alpha office, I told one of the maids to serve her food in the room, on time.

Its been a week since I have arrived here, after the incident with the alpha I have never seen him since.
Its been very lonely though, that I don’t even have my phone, so I decided to explore a little of the house.
After breakfast, I moved towards the balcony garden, where I found the little girl playing with her nanny, I also observed that there are few pack warriors always around in the house.
I decided to talk to the little girl.
“Hello, what are you playing” I tried to initiate a conversation
Suddenly she snaps “I don’t want a new Mommy, I know that stepmothers are evil”
These words seem to teach to the little one, she seems very very young to understand any of this; trying to play along with her I say “I am not your new mommy, even I know stepmothers are evil”.
Intrigued by my response, she comes closer and asks “then who are you?”
You tell me first “Who are you?”
Instantly she responds “I am Lilly and showing the elephant in her hand she says this is dumbo”
Well “I am Mia”
The nanny acknowledges me and says “we are not supposed to be talking with you mam, I am sorry, but I have strict orders from the Alpha”
“Alpha is my Daddy,” says Lilly smiling wide.
Unable to dismay the uncanny resemblance she has to the Alpha I say “Well, you look a lot like your Daddy sweetheart”.
The sentence makes her even happier and she starts talking about how much she loves her dad and she starts pulling on to me show me something. She drags me into her room to show the huge wall poster of her and Alpha Tristan.
Lilly is a very bubbly and happy child, she starts introducing her toys to me; as I notice the nanny growing more and more restless, I slowly get up to leave.
As I am about to leave. I see Alpha Tristan walk in, he doesn’t even look at me; he walks straight through me as if I did not exist there and picks up Lilly. Lilly is super excited to meet him and I slowly walk out giving them privacy
Later, as Alpha Tristan walks out of Lilly's room slowly shutting the door; I was in the kitchen
He asked, “Why were you in her room?”
I answered “I was getting bored, thought I could use some company”
In low and mean voice he hissed out “Stay away from her,I don’t want you anywhere near my daughter”
“To kill your boredom, there will be no more maids in this house, I want you to wash, clean, mop, cook and serve”
“What? ” was the only response that I could gather. How can he expect me to work on this entire floor?
He came closer, threateningly and asked: “What did you say?”
I looked down and said “Yes Alpha” I did not want to make it worse than it already is.
The next couple of days went by doing all the chores, I could still meet Lilly every now and then playing across the house.
Though the household work was too much to handle for a single person, cooking was one of my hobbies, Lilly loved what I cooked and I never met Alpha Tristan’s mother after our first meet; I was still glad as it kept me away from worrying about Tyler, Victoria and Richard.
If only if I had my phone, things would have been lot simpler. I wanted to talk to Tyler. So I decided to call him from the phone at home.
As I picked the receiver, one of the pack warriors came out of nowhere to stop me. “This is going to be difficult, I will have to talk to Alpha Tristan first,” I thought.
I walked into the Alpha office, he seemed surprised pleasantly by my presence there, but when I asked to make a call, his immediate response was “NO”.
He, in turn, asked me to be ready post-lunch to go meet the Elders council about wedding.
I smirked saying “Yes of course alpha, but after I talk to Tyler”
He directed me to the landline at his office. I quickly made the call and started talking to Tyler turning my back to the Alpha, I enquired about everyone. Tyler said “Everyone is doing okay, except Richard. Who is trying hard to contact you”
Tears start welling up in my eyes as I recollect all the promises Richard and I had made for each other. “Tell him I am SORRY” suddenly Alpha Tristan walks up and disconnects the call.
Be ready by 3.00 pm he says showing me the door to walk away.
