Chapter 16: The Party

I was taken aback when Tristan mentioned Tyler and Victoria’s names; I don’t believe they are invited at this party but I also know that Alpha Tristan is not the one who would give out empty threats.

I walked into the party hall holding Alpha Tristan’s hands only then that I realised that the entire party including our matching outfits were colour coordinated.

All the guests and the family members were in white, were as mine and Tristan’s were purple. All the eyes were on us, as they started congratulating us. My eyes were continuously searching for Tyler.

It was a huge gathering, many pack members were also present, Every single thing was at its best presentation All the Alphas had gathered to celebrate this occasion with him.

It is important for the Alpha to have his mate as wife, as they gained strength from the mate bond.  It must be something significant for Tristan. He wants to display his mate with a mark on her neck as his wife. After all these years he has been called cursed or mateless.

Tristan didn’t leave my hands even for a moment; as if he was afraid of I would do something that I am not supposed to do.

Each time we made eye contact; he would warn me signalling to behave.

Aria was not happy that our mate was treating us this way.

The party was at its full spirits, loud music, lough laughs, everyone dancing, Tristan was always by my side talking to someone or the other; I had never felt so lonely in my entire life. In such a crowd, filled with so many people and my mate holding my hand yet I felt so left alone.

That is when I could smell a similar scent; I turn around to track the scent, that is when I find Tyler, Victoria and both of their parents.

And start moving towards them, as I look at Tristan, I am surprised that he did not stop me. I hugged my aunt, and then Tyler and Victoria. Alpha Radolf and Luna congratulated me for the wedding.

Tyler hugged me and said that he is so happy for me; suddenly I felt as if I am losing some context here.

Tyler as if understanding my confusion said that “Alpha Tristan called them this morning and invited everyone to the party” “Tristan had informed them that we are mates and happily married to each other.”

I just could not believe what Tyler was saying and I looked at Tristan; who started walking towards us.

He shook hands with Alpha Radolf and my uncle Beta Clayton; he had such a fine smile on his face. He said, “I am so glad, all of you have accepted my invite and have come for the party.”

Alpha Radolf said “I am glad that Mia is safe and happy” Beta Clayton added, “Maybe you should have told us then, we could have avoided all the arguments and disagreements.”

Tristan smiled again and said, “I just wanted to be with my mate, no hard feelings on anyone.”

Tristan was being so polite and kind to anyone I could not believe he was the same monster from last night.

My aunt, as if she was understanding my place here, came closer to me and hugged me so tight, it reminded me of my mother. The thoughts of my parents being with me brought tears to my eyes

 My aunt said Alpha Tristan “I am surprised that you have claimed Mia, even after hearing to the Prophecy.”

It was very clear from his facial expression, he has no clue about what she was talking about yet, he let it pass smiled and pulling he closer to him, by my waist, he said: “My mate is mine, Prophecy or no Prophecy”.

Please join the party and have some fun he gestured everyone inside, moving in with everyone; he put his hands on Tyler’s shoulders and said to him “I hope we have no hard feelings for each other”

 Tyler nods and looks at me with a smile and says “As long as Mia is Happy, I have no issues with you.”

The party was going on exactly as I had planned it, looks like Krystal did put much effort to make this a success at such short notice.

The only thing that is bothering me is the look on Mia’s face.

She has blocked me on mate bond so I can’t hear her thoughts, I am so close to her, holding her hands yet there are so many boundaries between us.

I see her finally smile when Tyler arrives with his family. Her smile was so beautiful. It was the first time I had seen her smile so wholeheartedly since I ever met her.

My thoughts we stuck on her smile, I could not think of anything else. A smile on her face felt so good as if my life depended on it.

As I met them, she looked at me astonished; as if trying to decode me.

I did not want any bit of this to spoil the party and spread rumours across about my mate and pack.

I am actually glad that the differences with Alpha Radolf is sought on easy terms and I can start my business deals with his pack.

It is when I see the detective I had appointed to track Mia’s background in the hall, I leave his side and turn towards him. He had very little essential information, he had to go to the firestorm pack to get details of her parents.

However, to my surprise he said that Richard had found his mate yesterday when he left from the wedding venue; and they are together, even as we talk now.

“That would make one lesser issue that we have to worry about, Xavier added.”

The party has almost come to an end, much after the time I had expected. Most of the guests had already left.

When Tyler was about to leave, I moved closer a little so that I could listen to their conversation even from this distance.  Tyler informed Mia that Richard was very distressed yesterday and coincidentally found his mate. They both instantly connected to each other and are together now.

To my surprise Tyler told Mia “Trust your mate Mia, It’s so obvious that he loves you.”

Mia did not respond to that, she said “Take care of yourself and everyone, Tyler”

Looking at Mia from a distance I could make out that she was in pain. Her body will be in pain until she shifts to her wolf for the first time.

Xavier adds “We need to take her to the woods, to shift Tristan”

As the party ended very late and it was almost early in the morning, I took Mia’s hand in mine and started to leave for the woods

“Where are you taking me? I don’t want to go anywhere with you. Let go of my hands” Mia started protesting.

I look at her in the eye and say “You need to shift, we are going to the woods”

As if her wolf immediately complied to what I just said “Mia went quite, till we reached the woods”

She shifted in such a hurry, when we were away from all the sights, in mid of the woods, as if her wolf badly wanted to be let free; her clothes were shredded to pieces.

Her wolf was one of the magnificent ones I had ever seen in my life, it was beautiful orange-brown colour, with the sunrise her wolf looked as if its fire and radiated its own power and energy.
