CHAPTER ONE.

Francis sat at the edge of his bed in deep thought.His head buried in his hands. The word keep replaying in his ears.“You have to bring her or you run mad and loose all your assets". He blocked his ears as if the words are just released right then in front of him.

His eyes was already swollen from his previous cries.

“Poor Mercy" he cries aloud .He had just being told to bring the girl he cherished so Much all his life for this monthly human sacrifice, in other to maintain his wealth and also avoid running mad.A girl he loved so much, a girl that gives him joy whenever she is around.A girl that always helps him financially in times of trials before he said he has had enough and ventured into rituals to make end meets, without her knowing it.“You have to kill her before the next moon". The words of the head startled him again.

He stood up in anguish and walked over to the window to know if the pain in his heart will ease off but to no avail.

Just then his phone buzzed and Mercy's name surfaced in the screen. He sighed in bitterness as he was not ready to face her yet. He picked up the phone as his fingers trembled.

“ Hi Darling". she called sweetly.“I am coming over tonight".Silence

“I said I am coming and you are quiet. or is it one if your tricks again?. Anyway bye till then"

“Love you" she hangs up as Francis sighed in agony.
