Mercy's eyes were still on Francis when he gently opened his eyes and saw her staring closely at him.He smiled knowingly at her and murmured a good morning but Mercy kept looking at him.

His smile vanished when he look at her hands and saw the very knife he wanted to take her life with there.

“Hey, what are you doing with that"he said and stood up while stretching himself. “Just used it in cutting some stuff yesterday"He tried to defend.

He made for the knife but Mercy gently pulled her away.

“Tell me the truth Francis"she said softly.

“What did you do to me yesterday"She asked as tears gathered.

Francis was emotionally touched that instant, one thing he hates seeing most is Mercy crying. He hates to see her cry, her tears can break him down for days and hours, it is the only powerful antidote that softens him that much. “Talk to me " . She paused. “Did you defile me"she asked again as a tear dropped From her pretty cheeks.It immediately seemed to Francis as if a bomb was thrown to chatter his heart, he held it to prevent heart attack.

“Or..."she continued admists tears. “Did you want to take my life for some purposes".

Francis was very confused at his position. He didn't know whether to comfort her or shut her down.

His head was in chaos.
