# Chapter 13: The Devil's Claim
## Part 1
**Genre:** Werewolf / Mafia Romance

**Word Count:** 2100+
---
The night was bleeding.
Blood on the marble floors. Blood on my hands.
And standing in the middle of it all was him.
Luca Blackthorn.
The Alpha King of the North Pack.
The Devil of the Italian Mafia.
The man who was supposed to be my enemy.
Instead, he was the reason I was still breathing.
### 1. THE AFTERMATH
"Get her out of here," Luca's voice cut through the chaos. Cold. Deadly.
Final.
Two of his men grabbed my arms. I didn't fight them.
What was the point?
The Queen Wars were over. My father was dead.
And I... I was now the property of the man who killed him.
Luca stepped over my father's body like it was nothing.
His black suit was spotless. Not a single drop of blood on him.
As if death itself was afraid to touch him.
His golden eyes met mine. For one second, I saw it.
Not the Alpha. Not the killer.
Just... regret.
Then it was gone.
"Bring her to the estate," he ordered. "The west wing. My room."
My heart stopped.
"But Alpha," one of his men said, "the Council said--"
"I don't care what the Council said," Luca snapped. "She's mine.
And I claim what's mine."
### 2. THE CLAIM
The car ride was silent.
I sat in the back, hands cuffed, between two wolves who wouldn't
look at me. Outside, the city burned. The mafia families were falling.
One by one. All because of him.
Because of Luca Blackthorn.
The estate was massive. Black stone. Iron gates.
Like a fortress. Like a prison.
They dragged me through the halls. Past paintings of past Alphas.
Past wolves who bowed their heads as we passed.
Until we reached the end of the west wing.
A massive door. Carved wood. Silver handle.
"This is where you stay," the guard said, pushing me inside.
The door slammed shut.
Lock.
I was alone.
The room was huge. Bigger than my entire apartment back in New York.
King size bed. Black sheets. Windows that looked over the entire city.
And in the middle of it all, standing by the window, was Luca.
He didn't turn around.
"You can stop pretending to be brave," he said quietly.
I froze. "I'm not pretending."
He laughed. Low. Bitter. "Yes, you are, Aria Rossi.
The Alpha Daughter. The last of the Rossi bloodline."
He finally turned.
God. He was beautiful. And terrifying.
White shirt. Sleeves rolled up. Forearms covered in scars and tattoos.
Hair messy like he'd been running his hands through it.
And those eyes. Gold. Wolf. Hungry.
"Why did you save me?" I asked. My voice shook. "You killed my father."
Luca walked to the bar cart and poured himself a drink. Whiskey.
Neat.
"Because killing you would have been too easy," he said. "And because
the moment I saw you, I knew. You were mine."
"I'm not yours," I whispered.
He set the glass down. Hard.
"Aren't you?" He crossed the room in three steps.
Caged me against the window.
His hands came up on either side of my head.
I could smell him. Cedar. Smoke. Power.
"The devil claims what's his, little Luna. And I claimed you
the moment I marked you at 16."
I gasped. "That was a mistake--"
"It was fate," he growled. His thumb brushed over my neck.
Right where his mark still burned, hidden under my collar.
"You don't get it, do you?" His voice dropped. "I didn't want you.
A mafia princess? A liability? I wanted to stay away."
"Then why didn't you?"
"Because every time I closed my eyes, I saw you.
Bleeding. Crying. Dying."
His forehead dropped to mine.
"And I couldn't let that happen."
### 3. THE SURRENDER
Tears burned my eyes. "I hate you."
"Liar," he whispered.
"I do!"
"Then why are you shaking? Why is your heart racing?"
His hand came up and cupped my face. Rough. Gentle.
Contradictions. Like him.
"Because you're scared," he said. "Not of me. Of what you feel for me."
I shook my head. But he was right.
God help me, he was right.
"Luca, please," I whispered. "Don't do this."
"Don't do what?" His lips brushed my ear. "Don't touch you?
Don't kiss you? Don't claim you like I've wanted to for 6 years?"
"Yes."
"Too late."
And then his mouth was on mine.
It wasn't soft. It wasn't sweet.
It was war. It was surrender. It was 6 years of wanting and
hating and needing all at once.
His hands were in my hair. Mine were fisted in his shirt.
We were drowning and saving each other at the same time.
When he pulled back, we were both breathless.
"Say it," he demanded. "Say you're mine."
"Never," I lied.
His eyes darkened. "Aria."
"Luca, I can't--"
"You can." He lifted me. Like I weighed nothing.
Carried me to the bed.
Laid me down like I was precious. Like I was glass.
"Say it," he said again. Softer this time. "Please."
I looked up at him. The Alpha King. The Devil.
The man who destroyed my world and became it.
And I knew. I had known for years.
"I'm yours," I whispered. "God help me. I'm yours."
Something broke in his face. Relief. Need. Love.
"Finally," he breathed.
He came down over me. Slow. Careful. Like I might break.
Like I might disappear.
And in the darkness of the Blackthorn estate,
with the moon as our witness...
The Alpha surrendered.
To me.

### 4. HIS TOUCH
"I'm yours," I whispered.
The moment the words left my lips, something in Luca shattered.
His breath hitched. His gold eyes went dark, wild, like the wolf inside him was clawing to get out. But he didn't pounce. Not yet.
Instead, he did something I didn't expect.
He was gentle.
His hand came up and traced my jawline, thumb brushing over my cheekbone like I was made of glass. Like I was the most precious thing in his brutal world.
"Aria," he breathed. My name. A prayer and a curse all at once.
"Say it again."
"I'm yours, Luca."
A low sound rumbled in his chest. Not a growl. Something deeper. Something broken and healing at the same time.
"God, I've waited six years to hear you say that," he murmured. His forehead dropped to mine. "Six years of watching you. Of wanting you. Of pretending I didn't."
His lips brushed mine. Feather-light. Testing.
I arched into him without thinking. Because even after everything - the blood, the war, the death - this felt like coming home.
"Tell me to stop," he whispered against my mouth. "Last chance, little Luna. Tell me to stop and I will. Even if it kills me."
I threaded my fingers through his hair and pulled him closer.
"Don't you dare stop."
That was all he needed.
### 5. SURRENDER
Luca kissed me like a man starved. Like I was air and he'd been drowning for years.
It started slow. Deep. Like he was memorizing the taste of me, the feel of me. Then it turned desperate. His hands were everywhere - in my hair, down my back, under the thin fabric of my dress.
He pulled back just enough to look at me. Really look at me.
"You're shaking," he said, voice rough.
"I'm scared," I admitted. "Not of you. Of this. Of how much I need you."
Luca's expression softened. The Alpha King. The Devil. And right now, he looked at me like I was the only thing that mattered in the entire world.
"Don't be scared of me, Aria," he whispered. "I'd burn the whole world down before I let anyone hurt you again."
His hands moved to the straps of my dress. Slow. Giving me time to stop him.
I didn't.
The fabric pooled at my waist. His breath caught.
"You are so beautiful," he said, and it sounded like he was in pain. "Do you know what you do to me?"
I shook my head.
"You make me weak," he confessed. "Me. The Alpha King. The man who fears nothing. And you undo me with one look."
He bent his head and pressed a kiss to my collarbone. Right where his mark was hidden under my skin. It tingled, like it remembered him.
I gasped. My hands gripped his shoulders.
"Luca..."
"Shh," he soothed. "I've got you. I'm not going to hurt you. Never you."
He laid me back on the black sheets. Came down over me, careful, deliberate. His weight was heavy and perfect and safe.
"Look at me," he commanded softly.
I opened my eyes. Got lost in gold.
"I love you," he said. Simple. Devastating. "I've loved you since you were 16 and you punched me in the face for calling you 'kid'. I've loved you through every war, every bloodbath, every night I thought I'd lost you."
Tears slipped down my cheeks. "You idiot."
"I know," he laughed, low and broken. "The biggest i***t in the world. For loving the daughter of my enemy."
"For taking so long to say it," I whispered back.
Luca smiled. It transformed his face. Made him look younger. Made him look like mine.
"Never again," he promised. "No more secrets. No more distance. You're mine, Aria. In every way."
And then he showed me what he meant.
### 6. THE DEVIL'S PROMISE
It wasn't fast. It wasn't rough.
Luca took his time. Like he had forever. Like the world outside didn't exist.
Every touch was worship. Every kiss was a vow.
His hands learned me. His mouth remembered me. The wolf inside him purred with satisfaction every time I said his name.
"Luca," I gasped, arching into him. "Please."
"Please what?" he teased, though his voice was strained. His control was hanging by a thread and we both knew it. "Use your words, little Luna."
"You," I managed. "I need you."
Something in him snapped.
"Then take me," he growled. "All of me. I'm yours."
There was no more talking after that.
Only the sound of our breathing.
Only his name on my lips.
Only the way he held me like I was everything.
Only the moment we both broke apart and came back together, tangled and breathless and his.
After, he didn't let go.
He pulled me into his arms and held me. Tight. Like he was afraid I'd disappear if he did.
We lay there in silence, the moonlight painting us silver. My head on his chest. His hand drawing lazy patterns on my back.
"You okay?" he asked quietly.
I nodded against him. "Better than okay."
"Good." He pressed a kiss to the top of my head. "Because you're never leaving this room again. Not without me."
I laughed softly. "Possessive much?"
"Territorial," he corrected. "There's a difference. And yes. Very."
### 7. DAWN
Hours passed. Or maybe minutes. Time didn't matter.
Eventually, the sky outside turned gray. Dawn was coming.
Luca stirred behind me and pulled me closer.
"Sleep," he murmured into my hair. "I'll keep watch."
"You don't have to," I mumbled, already drifting. "I'm safe with you."
"You will always be safe with me," he promised. "That's my job now. My purpose."
His arms tightened around me.
"Luca?"
"Hmm?"
"Thank you. For choosing me."
He was quiet for a long time. Then:
"I didn't choose you, Aria. The moon did. Fate did. I just finally stopped fighting it."
I smiled and fell asleep to the sound of his heartbeat.
---
When I woke up, he was gone.
Panic shot through me until I saw the note on the pillow next to me.
*Had to deal with the Council.
Don't move. Don't leave.
I'll be back before sunset.
And Aria?
We're just getting started.
- L*
Beneath it, he had left something else.
A ring. Black gold. With a single wolf carved into it.
The Blackthorn signet.
His claim. His promise. His surrender.
I slipped it on my finger. It fit perfectly.
Outside, the sun rose over the Blackthorn estate.
The Queen Wars were over.
And the Alpha King had finally come home.

### 8. THE COUNCIL
The sun was barely up when Luca left.
And the moment he was gone, the walls started closing in.
Knock. Knock. Knock.
Three sharp raps on the door. Military. Precise.
"Miss Rossi," a cold voice said. "The Council requests your presence."
My stomach dropped.
The Council. Luca's worst enemies.
The ones who never wanted a Rossi alive.
I opened the door. Three men in black suits.
No wolves. No mercy in their eyes.
"Alpha Blackthorn isn't here," I said. My voice didn't shake.
Much.
"Which is why we're here," the man in front smiled.
It didn't reach his eyes. "Come. Now."
They didn't give me a choice.
### 9. THE ACCUSATION
The Council room was underground. Cold. Stone walls.
A long table. 12 chairs. 12 elders who hated me.
And in the center of the room - chains.
"What's this?" I asked.
"Sit," Elder Vance ordered.
I didn't.
"Where is Alpha Blackthorn?" I demanded.
"Dealing with the mess you caused," another elder spat.
"Your father’s men are still out there. Because of you."
"Because of me?" I laughed. Bitter. "My father is dead.
Luca killed him."
"Exactly," Vance said. "And now you think you can just waltz
in here, wear his ring, and be his Luna?"
My hand flew to the ring on my finger. Luca's ring.
"You don't get to decide that," I said quietly. "He does."
"We do," Vance slammed his hand on the table. "And we say
a Rossi cannot be Luna. You are a threat."
The room went silent.
Then the doors burst open.
### 10. THE ALPHA RETURNS
Luca.
Blood on his shirt. Fury in his eyes.
But he only looked at me.
"Aria," he breathed. Relief. Rage.
He crossed the room in two seconds and pulled me behind him.
"Touch her again," he growled at the Council, "and I will end
every single one of you."
"Alpha," Vance said. "She is not one of us."
"She is MY Luna," Luca roared. The windows shook.
"Marked. Claimed. Bonded. By me. By the moon.
And by God if he exists."
He turned and looked at me. Really looked.
"Did they hurt you?"
I shook my head. "I'm okay."
His jaw ticked. "Good. Because now I'm going to end this."
He faced the Council. "You want to challenge me?
Do it. Right now. But know this - if you take her from me,
you will have to go through me. And I am not merciful."
Silence.
Then, one by one, the elders stood and bowed their heads.
"She is acknowledged, Alpha," Vance said through gritted teeth.
"The Rossi girl is Luna."
### 11. THE PROMISE
Luca didn't say anything. He just took my hand.
Laced our fingers together.
And walked me out.
Back in his room, he shut the door and pulled me into his arms.
"I told you not to move," he whispered into my hair. "I was gone
for two hours."
"I know," I cried. Finally letting it out. "I was scared."
"I know, baby. I'm sorry." His hands were in my hair.
"I should have killed them all years ago."
"Don't," I whispered. "Don't become a monster for me."
He pulled back and cupped my face. "I already am.
For you. Because of you."
"Luca..."
"Shh." He kissed my tears. One by one. "No more crying.
No more fear. It's over."
"Is it?" I asked. "Really?"
He nodded. "The Council acknowledged you. That means
the entire pack does. You're Luna now. My Luna."
He got down on one knee.
My breath caught.
"Aria Rossi," he said. Voice steady. Strong. "I don't do poetry.
I don't do pretty words. But I do this - I do you.
For the rest of my life. Until my last breath."
He took my hand and pressed a kiss to the ring.
"Marry me. Not because you have to. Because you want to.
Because you love me. Like I love you."
Tears fell again. But these were different.
"Yes," I whispered. "A thousand times yes."
Luca stood and pulled me into his arms. Spun me around.
"Finally," he laughed. "My stubborn little Luna said yes."
### 12. UNTIL THE LAST BREATH
That night was different from the last.
Slower. Deeper. Like we had all the time in the world now.
No more war. No more hiding.
Just us.
"Stay with me," he whispered against my skin. "Every night.
Forever."
"Forever," I promised back. "With you."
He held me until dawn. His heartbeat under my ear.
His ring on my finger. His name on my lips.
The Alpha King and the Mafia Princess.
Enemies turned lovers.
Broken turned whole.
And as the sun rose over the Blackthorn estate,
I knew one thing for certain:
He was mine.
I was his.
And nothing - not the Council, not the past, not death itself -
would ever take that away.
Because the devil had claimed what was his.
And he was never letting go.
# Chapter 13: The Devil's Claim
## Part 4
The wedding was small.
Just us. The moon. And the wolves who finally accepted me.
Luca stood at the altar in black. As always.
But tonight his eyes weren't cold. Tonight they were mine.
"You look beautiful," he whispered when I reached him.
White dress. Simple. Because he said he wanted me, not the crown.
"I do," I answered. Before the priest even asked.
He laughed. Low. That sound I loved.
"Impatient?"
"For you? Always."
The vows were short. Because Luca hated speeches.
"Yours," he said. "Only yours. Until I die."
"And after," I whispered back. "Even after."
When he slipped the second ring on my finger, the pack howled.
The sound shook the sky.
That night, there was no war. No blood.
Just his arms around me. Just his promise in my ear.
"My wife," he murmured. "Say it again."
"Your wife," I smiled against his chest. "Forever."
He kissed me until the sun came up.
And for the first time in my life, I wasn't afraid of tomorrow.
