She had not seen a large village for some time and she thought that there was one marked on her map, which they should reach in the next mile or two. She was not mistaken and it was very much like the one where she had taken luncheon. She looked for the inn when she reached the village green. It was not as pretty as the black and white one had been earlier. It was a good deal larger and was named The Fox and Goose. Just as she had done at luncheon time, she went to the back of the inn and found a stable with the usual stalls. Here there was an elderly rough-looking man, who she supposed to be an ostler.
