Ale didn't clearly see who came in, she only saw a white figure coming to her. "Aleah, you are finally awake!"
That person shouted on her face and fired her questions as she looked at her looking for something.
"Are you okay? Are you hurt!? Where are you hurt!? Is there anything you like to eat? Do you feel thirsty? You have been in a coma for 3 days! We didn't know what to do! We were about to call your father! Why did no one call for a healer!? Why is no one here taking care of you!?" She didn't even pause. Her rounded eyes glowed with both anger and concern towards her.
While a soft glowing light emits from her hand, seeing the strange hand Ale unconsciously avoids the hand that's about to reach her forehead.
"Wa-what are you doing?"
"I was just going to check how you are." She reached again and she still avoided it.
"No"
"No?"
"No," Ale stands up to make some space between her glowing hands "who are you?" Ale touches her temple and look at the girl. Her mind was in a mushy paste, and aching.
Ale tried to remember who this is, but she doesn't recognize this person. It seems like Aleah and this girl are close from her rapid fire of questions and the obvious concern in her eyes.
At her question, the girl frowned, "What are you saying? I'm Keirean, your friend!"
"Oh,"
Which one of the 3 lackeys?
This is a problem.
Aleah in the novel has friends but the author is too lazy on the characters' description. If it wasn't for the cover picture of the novel, Ale wouldn't even recognize which one is which. Like these 3 lackeys, the author only introduces them as Aleah's friend 1, 2, 3... The author didn't even bother to give any friend a name.
"Yes, do you know your name?" Keirean asks her suspiciously
"Aleah" She replied instinctively.
"Do you know where we are?"
"I... this..." Ale looked around looking for an answer, she stopped at Aleah's—no her portrait, apparently. "In my room...?"
Her happy expression froze as she heard her continue. Keirean laughs at her silliness. Ale felt embarrassed and swore at the lazy author.
"I meant where we are, the academy's location."
"Academy? We're in the Mage Academy now!?"
"Yeah, we're currently in our first term of our 2nd year!" Keirean excitedly confirms her bad luck.
Haha.
It was not enough for her to be transferred to this forsaken body she also needed to die sooner than she can even accept her new reality.
Thisisshit.
In their second year was the start of the face slapping of the protagonist to our small time villainess Aleah. And at the end of the term she will disappear. All the fun of bullying the protagonist was done by the original Aleah and now she was left to suffer?
Why are we still here? Just to suffer!?
I need to change it. I wont stick to the script. I’m already here, might as well as live my life to the fullest. I need to suck up to my lil sister! ->Annora the female lead.
Speaking of change, she needed some normal clothes.
"Do you know where my sister is?"
"Sister? You mean Annora?"
Ale nodded while she look for her clothes. She look at the drawers but it wasn’t there. All she had was expensive looking dresses and not a school uniform just like Keirean ’s wearing. Unless she likes to wear thin sleeping garments in the hallways she needed to find a suitable and normal clothes.
“Why? What do you want to do with her again?”
“I will ask—no, beg for forgiveness.”
“Wa-what did you just said?” Keirean gave her a scared look. Kei was surprised to what she had said.
“Where’s my normal clothes?”
“Are you saying you want to apologize?”
“I like your uniform, kinda cute.” Ale go through all the drawers she could open but none of them have had her uniform.
“And not only to apologize you said you wanted to beg!?”
“Do you know where my uniform is?”
All the clothes in her closet was either glaringly pink or with laces, which above all things hurt her eyes.
“What happened to you?”
“I don’t remember where I put it.”
“Do you not remember that you hated your sister?”
“Maybe it was in the bathroom.”
“Aleah!”
“What?” Ale shouted back annoyed at the questions of her friend.
“Do you not remember what you did to her!?”
Huh?
“Do you not know what happened to her? Do you not remember what happened that night!?” Keirean grabbed her shoulders, shaking her body as if to make sense of her.
“You pushed her to the river! Even though I believe you didn’t do it… But she almost die that day! So now even if you ask for forgiveness you wouldn’t be able to do so as they won’t even let you go near her!”
Keirean looked her friend, Aleah looks so lost and confuse as if she didn’t remember any of this. As if she didn’t do any of those.
Looking back she had ask her who she is. And the way she avoided her touch when she wants to examine Ale. Or when was asked where she was. Aleah only knew her name and Annora, aside from that she seems to had forgotten everything else.
“What happened that night? What do you remember? What did she do to you!? There was only two people there! Why did you call her in that isolated place!? Did you really push her!? Why are you also wet that time!?”
Ale massages her temple, her head pulse in pain feeling the headache from being deluged with questions. It’s not that she didn’t know but rather the author omitted that part. It’s in the perspective of the male lead and he only got to know when it already happened. She’s not the omniscient reader that read the whole novel for 10 years, she only read it in passing, she didn’t even finish it and just skim through it.
And for the love of god, Kei’s high pitched voice was not helping at all.
Her head ache, her body feels she was beaten up, everything is confusing and her voice is annoying!
“I don’t know! I don’t remember!”
“What are you saying? Do you have memory lost!?”
“Probably!”
“That’s why I said I will check you out!” Keirean reaches again and Aleah avoided, she didn’t know why it’s just instinct.
“Don’t touch me with those glowing hands!”
“Why won’t you let me!?”
“I don’t know either!”
Seeing Aleah desperately avoiding her hand, Keirean encircle Aleah’s both shoulder. Hugging her arms in between them, keeping her from moving.
Ale struggling to avoid the upcoming hand. She didn’t know what would be the effect if that hand touches her. What if it could scan that she wasn’t Aleah How would she explain that she came from another world and in that place they were just a flimsy characters in the rich imagination of a lazy writer!?
Ale forgot that the body she was in was Aleah’s rather than hers, even though Kei uses magic it was unlikely to know who's soul was inside. There’s still limitations using magic.
When she saw her hand was already on her face, Ale was shocked and reflexively push Keirean away.
Thud.
She came into her senses and saw Keirean stunned face and was sitting on the ground.
Keirean felt like someone poured cold water on her. She cannot believe what she saw on Aleah’s body.
There’s no problem on her. Nothing at all. But why can’t she remember anything? She can only conclude that she did had memory lost or amnesia.
But Keirean is having second thoughts. It’s not like she can see inside her mind, but there’s no physical evidence that could cause her memory lost.
It must be on emotional rather than physical trauma. She must have been too shock by how Ale’s ex brutally dumped her for a girl, and not just ‘another girl’ it was her sister.
Speaking of family… there’s a rumor going around that Aleah wasn’t the real daughter of the House Raolet, rather she was switched at birth and took the place of Annora as the daughter of the House.
Keirean ran to Aleah with white face again.
Keirean was struck of realization, her friend is so pitiful. She’s so fragile that both her mind and body was so exhausted that she forces herself to forget everything.
“Oh my god, Aleah! What’s going on with all this! Kallan, that damn bastard made you like this? Oh my God! That crazy bastard made you like this…!”
Keirean ’s eyes reddened as she look at her friend in pity. How can you forget all of those things without any thought? Doesn’t it felt empty when you don’t know anything?
Wasn’t it terrible?
Ale looked at the now sympathetic friend number 1. Puzzle at how her brain works, her expressions easily changes. From shocked to sadness and now cursing others.
Welp, might as well to play. Ale’s tears suddenly fall like water, face scrunch up as she cries.
“I don’t know *sniff, but… but I felt suddenly sad when you mentioned that name… who is he? Why is he making me feel this way?”
Friend Keirean, comforted her, “Don’t worry Aleah, there’s tons of other guys out there. You’re the daughter of the Duke Raolet, aside from that your family has tons of wealth and have a good reputation. Excellent men should be lining up to you! You’re beautiful and smart! A very hard working person! Let’s forget about him okay?”
Ale sniff a bit more and nodded.
“Don’t worry anymore. I’m alright, even if I forget everything.” Ale smiles assuring her.
Keirean gazed at her with incredulity and can’t help to ask again. “Did you really forgot?”
“Mmhm.” Ale nodded as she smiles as she wipe her tears away. “Can we not talk about it anymore?”
In the eyes of her sympathetic friend number 1, she looks like she’s trying to stop her tears by smiling.
With a complicated look on her face, Keirean changes the subject “Do you need anything? Ah water! You must be thirsty! Let me get some water!” She turn around to get water.
“And a meal!” Ale added, “A steak… if you must… or any meat… I’m hungry… can I also get a dessert?”
“Why don’t we go to the cafeteria?”
“Does the food there taste good?” Ale on her feet walking out if the room
“It’s quiet tasty. Oh you need to change your clothes.”
Ale grab coat that cover most of her thin sleepwear. “I don’t have uniform yet?”
“No actually you don’t wear the uniform.”
“Why?”
“I don’t know. Wait, now that I remember it, you don’t also eat at the cafeteria.”
“What? Am I that pompous?”
“Not really. You’re just not used to the fabric. You have a very sensitive skin…”
“Did I also said I have very sensitive palate?”
Keirean nodded her head in surprise. “How do you know that?”
“I guessed?”
“Oh. I thought you had your memory back”
The two friends happily chat as they walk down the hallway. Unbeknownst to them there’s a pair of eyes silently gazing at them with contempt.
