Episode 1 – The New Neighbor
Scene 1 – London street, night
RAIN pours over the quiet street. A moving truck stops in front of a small apartment building.
ZARA (thoughts):
So this is London… new city, new life, new everything.
Mama and Baba are miles away in Pakistan. I have to make them proud.
She carries boxes inside her new apartment. Suddenly, she hears loud voices next door—deep, angry male voices.
ZARA (thoughts):
Wow… that’s welcoming. Who argues at midnight?
A car door slams. A tall man in a black coat steps out of a luxury car. He glances at her—sharp grey eyes, perfectly calm but dangerous.
ZARA (narration):
That’s the first time I saw him.
Rayyan Malik. My mysterious new neighbor.
Rich. Handsome. And terrifyingly quiet.
He nods politely and disappears inside.
---
Scene 2 – University, next morning
Zara rushes to class, holding her coffee.
FRIEND (JESS):
You’re the new girl from Pakistan, right? How’s the flat?
ZARA:
Nice! Except my neighbor seems… dangerous.
JESS:
Ohhh, you must be talking about Dr. Malik!
He’s a surgeon at St. Claire Hospital. Super rich. Everyone’s obsessed with him.
ZARA:
Doctor? That man?
JESS (teasing):
Yeah, but rumor says he’s got a darker side. Something… illegal.
Zara laughs nervously.
ZARA (thoughts):
Rumors. London is full of them. Still… those eyes didn’t look innocent.
---
Scene 3 – Hospital (evening)
Zara walks in, assigned to shadow a senior doctor.
NURSE:
You’ll be with Dr. Malik today.
Zara freezes as Rayyan turns around, wearing his white coat.
RAYYAN (coolly):
Miss Ahmed, welcome to the emergency department. Let’s save lives, shall we?
ZARA (awkwardly):
Y–yes, sir.
ZARA (thoughts):
Oh no. Out of all doctors in London… it had to be him.
Hours pass. He works silently, fast, confident. But when his phone buzzes, he steps out, whispering angrily into it.
ZARA (thoughts):
That’s not a hospital call. That’s something else.
---
Scene 4 – Rainy night, street
Zara struggles with her umbrella. A black car stops beside her.
RAYYAN (from car):
Get in. You’ll catch a cold.
ZARA:
I don’t usually get into strangers’ cars.
RAYYAN (smirking):
Good. I’m your neighbor, not a stranger.
She gets in, shivering. The car smells of leather and mint.
RAYYAN:
London isn’t as safe as it looks, Miss Ahmed.
ZARA (thoughts):
Why do his words sound like a warning?
---
Scene 5 – Later that week, park
They walk together, coffee in hand.
ZARA:
You’re not like other doctors.
RAYYAN:
And you’re not like other girls.
ZARA (laughing):
What makes you say that?
RAYYAN:
You still believe the world is good. Don’t lose that.
ZARA (thoughts):
There’s pain in his eyes… like he’s fighting something I can’t see.
---
Scene 6 – Midnight, street
Zara hears shouting. She peeks through her window. Rayyan is with two men. A gun flashes. He moves fast, disarms them, and they run.
ZARA (whispers):
Ya Allah… what did I just see?
Rayyan looks up. Their eyes meet through the rain.
ZARA (thoughts):
He saw me.
And now… nothing will be the same.
