Scene 1 – Zara’s Apartment, Morning The sun peeks through the curtains. ZARA hurriedly packs her bag. There’s a loud knock on the door. ZARA (nervous): Who’s there? RAYYAN (firm voice): It’s me. Open up. She opens the door — RAYYAN stands there, in a dark coat, looking serious. ZARA: Rayyan… what’s going on? RAYYAN: You can’t stay here anymore. They know where you live. ZARA (confused): Who? Those men? RAYYAN: Not just them. My enemies. The people I’m trying to keep you safe from. ZARA: You think I’ll be safer with you? He sighs, pinching the bridge of his nose. RAYYAN: I know how it sounds. But until this is over, you’re moving into my house. ZARA (crossing her arms): Your house? Are you serious? RAYYAN: Completely. Pack light. We leave in ten minutes. ZARA (thoughts): He’s bossy, arrogant, and terrifying… So why does part of me feel safer with him than anywhere else? --- Scene 2 – Rayyan’s Mansion, London Suburbs A sleek black gate opens. ZARA’s eyes widen as she steps inside. ZARA (in awe): You call this a house? It’s bigger than my entire university! RAYYAN (dryly): It’s just walls and windows. Don’t be impressed. ZARA (teasing): Says the man with chandeliers in his hallway. He almost smiles but hides it. RAYYAN: You’ll stay in the guest room. Second floor. Don’t open the study door. Ever. ZARA (suspicious): What’s in the study? RAYYAN (flatly): The side of my life you shouldn’t see. ZARA (thoughts): That’s the thing about forbidden doors — they make you want to open them. --- Scene 3 – Living Room, Evening ZARA sits on the couch with her laptop, trying to study. RAYYAN walks in wearing casual clothes for the first time. He looks… human. ZARA (smiling): You look different without your doctor coat. RAYYAN: And you look the same — distracted. ZARA: I’m trying to focus. It’s hard to study with a mafia boss making tea behind me. He smirks slightly. RAYYAN: You’re safe here, Zara. I promise. ZARA (softly): That’s what scares me. Because when I’m near you, I forget that I shouldn’t trust you. Their eyes meet. Silence. Heavy tension. RAYYAN (quietly): Then don’t think. Just breathe. He turns away, breaking the moment. ZARA (thoughts): How can someone’s presence be both danger and comfort at once? --- Scene 4 – Night, The Forbidden Study ZARA tiptoes down the hall. The study door is slightly open, a faint light inside. ZARA (whispers): I shouldn’t. But… what if I find something important? She pushes the door gently. Inside are shelves filled with files, maps, and photographs of people. A laptop glows on the desk. ZARA (reading softly): “Operation Reign… Targets… Interpol…” Wait— Her eyes land on a file labeled “ZARA AHMED”. ZARA (shocked whisper): Why is my name here? Footsteps approach. She panics, closing the folder just as RAYYAN enters. RAYYAN (coldly): What are you doing here? ZARA (stammering): I… I got lost. I was looking for water. He steps closer, eyes dark. RAYYAN: You’re lying. ZARA (angry now): Then tell me the truth! Why is there a file with my name on it? He pauses, then exhales heavily. RAYYAN: Because they were watching you before I was. ZARA (confused): Who? RAYYAN: My enemies. They thought you were connected to me. I had to keep track… to protect you. She stares at him, trembling. ZARA: You spied on me? RAYYAN: I saved you. Don’t twist it. ZARA (hurt): You don’t get to decide what’s protection and what’s control. She storms out. He watches her leave, guilt in his eyes. --- Scene 5 – Guest Room, Later ZARA sits by the window, crying quietly. RAYYAN knocks once and enters slowly. RAYYAN: Zara… ZARA: Don’t. Please. RAYYAN (sighs): I know I’ve crossed lines. I didn’t mean to scare you. ZARA (whispers): Then what do you mean to do? Protect me, or cage me? RAYYAN (softly): Both. Because if something happens to you… I won’t survive it. ZARA looks up, surprised by his vulnerability. ZARA: You say things like that, and I don’t know if you’re confessing… or warning me. RAYYAN: Maybe both. He turns to leave, then stops. RAYYAN: For what it’s worth… I never wanted you in this world. You deserve peace. But peace dies wherever I walk. He leaves. ZARA watches him go, tears in her eyes. ZARA (thoughts): He’s broken, but his pain feels real. And that’s what makes it harder to stay away. --- Scene 6 – The Next Morning ZARA walks downstairs. She sees RAYYAN asleep on the couch, exhausted. A scar runs across his arm — fresh and deep. ZARA (whispers): He gets hurt and never lets anyone see. Even angels bleed when they fall into hell. She gently covers him with a blanket. He stirs slightly. RAYYAN (half-asleep): Zara… don’t go. She freezes, heart racing. ZARA (thoughts): Maybe he’s talking in his sleep. Or maybe… he already knows I’m the only reason he’s is still human.
