Chapter 11Warm sunshine blazed down on the open lands of Eden, with golden rays shooting through the open curtains in Edenwood’s foyer. A thin coating of dust was barely evident on the entry table. Still, Chad Singleton wiped a lone finger across the smooth surface and stopped to examine it.
He held up a clean finger.
“My goodness, Chad, dear, you’d think the Queen of England herself was coming to Edenwood for a visit. Either that or you think Pearson is falling down on his duties after years of servitude, which I can assure you is sheer foolishness. Care to tell me who you are expecting?”
