Malcolm stilled, but after a moment put his hands on my waist and deepened the kiss. I barely opened my eyes to see if Covin had left. Everything looked to be the way it was. I broke the kiss. Malcolm stepped back surprised. “This is off-character. Not that I’m complaining.” Widening my eyes, I said, “I’m so sorry, Malcolm. I get a little tipsy after a cup of wine.” Malcolm appeared a little dazed himself. He bit his lower lip. I said, “I probably should go. I’ll see you later.
