Battle for love

822 Words

Prince Ashok and Prince Yean began to circle each other, their eyes locked in challenge. Prince Yean fought with a single aim—to defeat the Prince of Amartya and claim the victor’s crown for himself. The thrill of it coursed through him. If he won, not only would the nation sing his praises, but he would become untouchable in the eyes of rival kingdoms. The match began. Prince Yean struck first, launching a rough opening attack. He swung his sword straight toward Ashok’s chest. Prince Ashok countered effortlessly, deflecting the blow and knocking Yean to the ground with a swift return strike. Cheers erupted from the maidens. Ashok’s eyes instinctively moved to Princess Dhara. She was not cheering—she sat frozen, like a statue. His jaw tightened, and he turned his focus back to Yean.
