Chapter Sixty Eight The heavy, dark rumble of Stone’s motorcycle engine cut through the black night like a wild animal as we drove away from the wooden cabin. I was wrapped tightly in Stone’s massive, thick leather jacket, which smelled deeply of gasoline, old rain, and his own warm, heavy scent. My body was completely numb, my mind drifting in a dark, empty cloud as the cool night wind whipped against my face. I didn't look back at the cabin. I didn't want to think about Tyler, or the tearing of my clothes, or the terrifying look of pure slaughter that had crossed Stone’s face before he threw me over his shoulder and carried me out into the dark.
