"I....I would never do such." I stutter in panic, looking around trying to find an explanation for this.
He stared at me for a long while the anger in his eyes subsiding.
Groaning he pinched the bridge of his nose in frustration.
"Go home Vera." He spoke out softly.
She looked skeptical as her gaze wandered from me to him.
I tried to give her a reasuring smile but with the look on her face I wasn't successful.
"It's okay." I added in a shaky voice.
She stood up carefully, bowed briefly to Mathias before walking out.
Mathias looked at me, picked up the glass pitcher and emptied it on the floor, his gaze still resting on me.
He stretched the pitcher to me, and I took it, in both of my shaky hands.
Looking inside, the deep purple colour of wolfsbane dance at the bottom of the pitcher, mocking me.
I hold my hand to my mouth and gasp.
"I swear, I ......"
Before I could finish talking I was pulled off my sit by my arm and dragged upstairs.
I helped in pain.
"It's not me I swear."
Looking at where he was taking me to my legs refused to move, stiffened in terror.
He carried me and threw me over his shoulder as we approached the dreaded black door. The punishment room.
I gradually left my body and locked myself in that part of my mind that can't be touched.
Where I feel no pain and hear no sound.

Vera’s POV
"What do you mean by she didn't eat it?" Reuben asked anxiously as he bursted into my apartment without knocking.
"Exactly what you heard on phone." I replied rolling my eyes.
Not like I wanted to fail too, I also have something at stake here.
After all I was the one who instigated this whole plan.
Doing some digging into our newly appointed Luna's past, I stumbled upon a very interesting secret.
A secret the whole pack could have known if they weren't blinded by prejudice and hatred. Human mind, so fickle.
Having this weapon in my hands I threatened to oust the culprit but promised to keep his secret if helped in getting rid of his niece. This he gladly agreed to without thinking twice.
Though now it seems getting rid of his niece is proving to be an impossible task.
He takes a hand through his blonde hair in frustration.
"This is the third time Vera!—" He paced around.
"—Third time and still you can't dispose off one scrawny little wolf."
His attitude was beginning to annoy me but I can't discard him just now.
I forced myself to be level headed and walked towards him with a smile on my face.
"Calm down" I place my hand on his chest.
"We have a leverage here."
"Which is?" He asked.
"Trust." I grinned wide.
"She trust me."

Reyna’s Pov
I was taking a rest at the foyer, reclining on a sofa, enjoying the cool breeze and the solitude of my house, watching the maids clean the house as that is the only work the alpha allows them to do, while I take care of the kitchen.
Mathias had gone to the neighboring town for pack business and he would mostly like be back the next day.
During the past few days I had been getting used to my situation, learning to make lemonade out of the lemons which is my life.
I realized moaning through a difficult task, whenever he is on me improves his mood a little, probably it gives him a clear conscience that I'm enjoying his act of r**e.
"Enjoying all by yourself?"
Vera popped her head out of the entrance, she grinned down at me.
I returned it with a smile of my own
I couldn't have done all these without her help and support.
"Ta-da!" She stretched out two drinks and I gratefully took one, enjoying the coolness against my skin.
"Reuben sent his regards." She said sipping from her drink.
" I really do not know what you see in my uncle." I stared at her in concern.
I found out they were dating when I popped in one day unannounced and met the two of them in an amorous position.
"Probably the love I have for you has extended to him." We both laugh at that and I took a sip of my drink.
"I honestly feel you can get yourself a better man."
She smiled strangely. "I'm working on that." Then she laughed again.
"I'm serious Vera." I touched her cheeks lightly.
"You know you're like a sister to me, I don't want you to go through what I'm facing."
She laughed loud and long, while I watched in surprise.
"Worry about yourself Reyna." She managed to reply between gulps of laughter.
I smiled at her response and took another sip of the orange juice.
I heard the front door open and close softly.
I raised both brows in question, she gave a shrug.
I stand up to go check who it was when Reuben suddenly appeared through the entrance.
Vera looked up at him in surprise. "What are you doing here."
He looked at her and then his gaze settled on me as I stood up to face him.
"I'm here to make sure you don't f**k things up again." He said, looking at me in amance.
"What could possibly go wrong." I looked from one person to the other not liking the feeling I was getting in my gut.
"You fool, you could have spoiled everything." She faced Reuben and turned arround to look at me.
The look on her face suddenly switched from confusion to a smile full of malice.
I felt a very sharp pain in my stomach and doubled over.
"About time." She clapped her hands in glee and came to stand over me.
I felt another sharp pain in my heart and clutched at it even as blood spurted out of my mouth.
"What have you done?" I whisper in utter disbelief, blood running down my eyes and ears.
