Lila In Danger

844 Words
The thumping bass of the club vibrated through the dimly lit space as Rose and her sister, Lila whitmore, settled onto the bar stools. The bar attendant leaned forward, ready to take their order. “What can I get you, miss?” he asked politely. Rose didn’t hesitate. “A strong alcohol,” she said, her eyes distant, the weight of the day still heavy on her shoulders. Lila, already holding a drink in her hand, glanced at her sister with concern. “Are…… you okay?” She asked softly, noticing the tension in Rose’s posture and the faraway look in her eyes. Rose took a slow breath, trying to push the memories of Darius Kane aside. “I’ll be fine,” she said, forcing a small, shaky smile, though the truth was far from it. The bartender slid the glass across the bar, and Rose picked it up carefully. “Thank you,” She said, her voice soft. She and Lila clinked their glasses together in a quiet toast. “I’m so glad you decided to come out tonight, Rose,” Lila said, her eyes warm with concern and teasing at the same time. “So… tell me. How are things with that walking red flag, David?” Rose took a slow sip of her drink, letting the strong alcohol burn its way down, before setting the glass back on the bar. Lila had never really liked David. She often felt that if he truly liked Rose and found her attractive, he would have been intimate with her long ago. Lila leaned closer, curiosity in her eyes. “So… have you met his family yet?” she asked, swirling her drink. Rose froze, the question pulling her back into the memory she had tried so hard to push away. She remembered Darius Kane, David’s father-the way he had leaned in, the sharp intensity in his eyes, and the scent of lavender that seemed to cling to her even now. “You must be a virgin,” His voice had whispered, a shiver still crawling up her spine at the memory. “How did he know that I am a virgin?,” She wondered, her thoughts swirling with disbelief and unease. Lila, noticing the faraway look in her sister’s eyes, tilted her head. “Rose? Are you even listening to me?” she asked, a hint of concern in her voice. Rose shook herself slightly, trying to push the thought aside. “I… I’m listening,” she replied. Rose forced a small smile, trying to push the haunting memory of Darius Kane aside. “No… things are good,” she said softly. “He’s really very… emmm… sweet.” Lila raised an eyebrow, swirling her drink with a teasing grin. “That means… you haven’t… banged yet?” Rose shrugged slightly, looking back at Lila with a small, nervous smile. “So… what’s wrong with that?” she said awkwardly. She paused, swirling her drink, her thoughts momentarily drifting. “It’s just… emmm… I think you deserve to feel desired and wanted, that’s all,” Lila added softly. Lila’s eyes widened as she spotted her boss approaching the bar. “Victor is headed this way… I thought he was off tonight. s**t… “. She muttered under her breath, her pulse quickening. Victor is the owner of the club, and Lila borrowed money from him to support their father’s business. She’s been working at the bar to help repay the debt. “Hey boss! How’s it going?” she said, forcing a casual tone as he reached her. Victor Langston didn’t respond. Instead, he grabbed her firmly, holding her tightly, He leaned close, his voice low, almost a whisper in her ear. “We need to talk now,” he said, his tone serious, leaving no room for argument Lila forced a tight smile and turned slightly. “Victor… have you met my little sister? This is Rose.” Rose stood and stretched out her hand politely, waiting for a handshake. Victor didn’t even look at her. Instead, he turned back to Lila. “Hey—listen. We need to talk, at the back now.” Before Rose could react, Victor grabbed Lila’s arm and pulled her up from the chair. “I’ll be right back, sis,” Lila said quickly, forcing a shaky smile. “It’s just… em… work stuff.” She hesitated, then added hurriedly, “Actually, how about you head home? I’ll catch you later.” Rose frowned, sensing something was wrong. But before she could say a word, Victor dragged Lila toward the back, toward a closed door near the storage rooms. As they reached it, Lila resisted, her feet slowing. “Victor… no. I don’t want to go in there.” “Get in there!” he snapped. “No,” she said again. The sound echoed sharply as he struck her, and Lila fell to the floor with a cry. Rose gasped. Victor didn’t stop. He dragged Lila into the back room, the door slamming shut behind them.
