Chapter One

1185 Words
Foxy I loved my job; I really did but by the end of every night I was so fed up with “welcome to club x… please leave your inhibitions at the door… blah blah blah.” That I would have done just about anything not to say it ever again. And tonight, was no different. My throat felt raw, the muscles in my face hurt from all the wide fake smiles I had to give, and my feet hurt from the stupidly high heels I was wearing. I was ready for my bed. In fact, I couldn’t wait to wrap myself up in my fluffiest bathrobe and put my slippers on. A strange thing for a woman like me to want right? I was the wild one, the corset wearing, thigh high boots loving wild girl of club X. At least that’s what people thought. And for the most part they were right. I was all of those things but that wasn’t all I was. Deep down I was just a girl. Sometimes I dreamt of curling up in front of a log fire with a cup of tea and a good book. Not that I would ever give up my life for that. This was my life. “You heading out Foxy?” Club X’s bartender was eyeing me with interest as he wiped down the already clean bar with a soapy cloth. Glancing at my watch I shook my head, giving him a small smile. “It’s almost three, so I will probably just head home once I’m finished.” Clubbing after our shift wasn’t unheard of but I knew that wasn’t what he was asking. He was asking if I wanted to hook up. Something we had done several times in the past. And it was tempting. It was all tempting. He was a good-looking man, a very good-looking man plus he didn’t mind me taking charge. Unlike most of the men here, he wasn’t an alpha. He enjoyed being taken in hand and punished. “You sure?” He didn’t even bother to try and keep the disappointment out of his voice. “We always seem to have fun when we hook up.” Leaning over the bar I tapped his nose with one of my long pointed red nails. “Yes, we do Duncan but not tonight. By the time I finish here tonight I will be doing nothing but climbing into my bed…” my eyes skirted the empty club. Luckily tonight most of the patrons had left without much hassle at closing time. But I knew I still had at least an hour of cleaning and setting up for tomorrow before I could head home. “I could always help you relax.” Duncan’s hand trailed up my side, his fingertips brushing the swell of my breasts. “You know how good I am with my tongue.” As if to prove his point he licked at his lips. I watched him but the smile I gave him was forced. “I know Duncan and believe me it’s tempting but not tonight. Maybe we can arrange something for another night?” The hand that had been so gentle a second ago closed over my bicep. His fingers turning cruel. “Come on Foxy.” He dragged me towards him. Pressing his body against mine. And I could feel the swell of his c**k against his black trousers. He pushed himself against my belly. “Or do I need to beg you? Do you want me on my knee’s mistress? Would that make you want to give me a taste of you?” Tearing my arm from his grasp I glared at him. “Jump up on the bar Foxy and I’ll worship you.” “I said no Duncan. I suggest you learn to listen.” I let the full power of my status wash over him. “Stop acting like a brat.” He dropped his chin to his chest. His breathing ragged. Jesus just being told off had turned him on. “Yes mistress.” I wanted to snap at him that I wasn’t anyone’s mistress especially not his. “Go home Duncan. I’ll finish off here.” “I get to see you again though don’t I Foxy? We get to fool around again?” He sounded whiny and pathetic. But I nodded anyway. We would see each other in work, and that was it. There was no way I could take him to bed again. He was already too clingy. Damn men, you give them a little bit of good loving and that was it, they were suddenly in love. I didn’t have time for any of that s**t. “I should make sure you get home safely “he was trying everything in his power to hand around. “No need, I’m not exactly alone. Someone is in the office. I will get them to walk me to a cab or something.” Plucking the cloth from his hands I shooed him out from behind the bar. “Get gone now Duncan, go to party or …” He cut me off. “Wyatt?” Something like jealousy flickered into his eyes. Jealousy and fear. “No, I don’t think so. He would have been down on the main floor lording it over his kingdom with Liv at his feet.” I flicked the cloth at his chest playfully. “It’s probably Ben.” “Oh ok, nothing to worry about then?” I didn’t know what he was talking about. But I wasn’t about to ask. “Go home Duncan, I will see you tomorrow.” Turning my back on him I crossed the room, heading towards a cluster of glasses I had just spotted hidden behind a large pot plant. Pushing in chairs as I went. I moved with purpose even though my feet were screaming at me. The sooner I got everything square the sooner I could hand the keys to Ben and head home. A noise behind me made me whirl, the sound of a soft footstep. “Ben?” I felt silly calling out when there was obviously no one there. The room was empty. Whatever I had heard must have been a trick of my brain. Except it wasn’t. I knew it wasn’t. My whole body was tense, the hair on my arms standing up as goosebumps erupted over my skin. Someone was there. I might not be able to see them, but they were. “I swear to god Duncan if this is you playing a prank I will….” I didn’t get to finish. Something metallic came out of nowhere and pain smashed into my brain. I stumbled, my ankle turning over in my heels. But it wasn’t until the second blow that I went down fully. There was no time to protect myself, no time to scream. The only thing I had time for to wonder what the hell was going on as booted feet started to kick.
