Emmeline’s POV               An annoying rhythmic beeping makes me groan slightly. It has to be way too early which is why it is so difficult to get up. The beeping continues and I know I have to stop it. I try to reach out my arm to locate the alarm, but my arm feels like concrete. I notice that not one of my limbs wants to move willingly.               I slowly peel open my eyes and notice how bright it is. Everything feels so bright that it burns. I find myself in a room build of white stone. I follow the source of the beeping and see what appears to be medical equipment. Wait a minute, I’m attached to that equipment. I try to sit up and stand but my body feels so heavy.               The beeping on the machine quickens as I drop my legs to the side of the bed. I get myself into a standing position at the exact moment the door flies open revealing a tall female dressed in scrubs. In my startle I lose my footing and fall to the floor.               “I need help over here!” The female yells before crouching down next to me. Two males dressed in white come running in. One scoops me off the floor while the other runs out of the room quickly.               “What were you thinking?” The female asks me in an annoyed tone. She checks over me and takes my vitals as I watch her carefully.               “How is our patient.” A male dressed in a doctor’s coat comes strutting in. The first thing I notice is that he has kind green eyes. His blonde hair is gelled back off of his face. He looks a bit young to be a doctor.               “She will be fine, just was a bit stupid for trying to be independent right away.” The one who must be a nurse sneers looking at me.               “Olivia, be nice.” The doctor says before coming to stand right next to me. “Hello, my name is Dr. Zachariah Adams.” He holds his hand out for me to shake. I tentatively take his hand and shake it with as much effort as I can.               “Can you tell me your name?” He asks giving a small reassuring smile.               “Emmeline.”               “That’s a pretty name. Emmeline, do you know where you are?”               “I’m guessing a hospital.” I say hesitantly while looking around the room. The nurse rolls her eyes as she takes in my answer.               “Do you recall what happened?”               I sit there for a minute trying to recall the last thing I remember. Slowly I start to put together the pieces. “There was an explosion.” I state looking around the room confused. “Where am I?”               Everyone exchanges glances debating on whether they should answer me. Someone clears their throat from the doorway, and I watch as everyone bows their heads slightly. My eyes come to find a tall figure standing in my doorway. I gasp as I realize the figure is the same person I have seen in my dreams. My heart rate increases drastically making my heart monitor beep frantically. He is leaning against the doorframe with his hands shoved into the pockets of his jeans. He has on a tight black t-shirt that hugs the muscles of his upper body. His dark eyes are set on one thing, me.               “Leave us.” He commands everyone as he moves into the room coming closer to me. Everyone scatters from the room.               He lifts his hand and runs it down my cheek. Everything feels wrong and I shiver at his touch. He smirks at my recoil and his hand roughly grabs my chin forcing me to look directly at him. He leans closer and brushes his lips against mine. I feel myself growing repulsed by the action but keep still hoping he will just let me go.               “You kept me waiting for a long-time little mate.” He says in a gruff strained voice. I push away from him and give him a confused look.               “I think your mistaken, I can’t be your mate.”               “And why is that?” He asks in an amused tone.               “Well, I don’t think there is a bond.”               “Correct, but that doesn’t matter.” He states giving a small shrug. “You are my chosen mate, because you are going to help me get what I want.”               I gasp at his brutal honesty. “What?” I ask not really able to find the words to say much more.               “Little naïve mate, you are going to give me power. You were blessed, you just don’t know it yet.” He states pushing me back on the bed so I’m lying under him. My breath catches in my throat as the terror sets in. He hovers over me with a wicked grin stretched across his face. “I had a witch find you for me, and now that I have you, I will never let you go.”               I can feel his breath on my face as he hovers over me. I scrunch my eyes shut trying to disappear. I hear someone enter the room and there is a small sound of stomping feet. My captor sighs and shifts his weight to look back at the doorway.               “Dominic what are you doing?” A high screechy voice asks from the doorway. So, my captor’s name is Dominic. I will have to remember this for later.               “That is not your concern.” Dominic says glaring at the doorway.               “Is that her?”               Dominic moves off me as he glares at the doorway. I sit up slightly and look at the doorway to see a tall slender female standing there with her hands on her hips. She has bright red hair that is pulled back into a high ponytail. She is dressed in a pair of ridiculously small shorts and a white tank top with black combat boots. Her face looks like she painted on her make-up.               “Yes, this is her.” Dominic says with a cocky smirk on his face.               “So, this is the female going to take my place?”               “Mia no one will ever be able to take your place, you know I just need her for mating. You will always have my heart.” Dominic says wrapping his arms around the female as she stands there glaring at me.               “You already have someone?” I ask a bit shocked at the situation I find myself in.               “Did you really think you would find true love?” The female named Mia sneers at me. Dominic smiles slightly as he watches our exchange. “You are just a means to an end.”               “Baby don’t be so mean.” Dominic says softly before placing a kiss on her red lips. “You know that I need her and that means I have to take care of her as well.”               “I don’t like sharing!” Mia whines stomping her feet like a child.               “I know, but she has to be my mate.” Dominic says sternly letting her know that her tantrum will not be tolerated.               “Not if I reject you.” I say softy looking at the both of them intensely. Both of their heads snap up and look towards me. All the playfulness is gone and now both of them glare at me. “I mean, I don’t want this. I don’t want to be the other woman.” I wanted to say more but the look on Dominic’s face stops me.               He remains quiet for a minute contemplating what I said. Suddenly, he moves towards me at a fast rate and slaps me so hard I fall back onto my pillows. I grasp my cheek trying to soothe the sting, but Dominic grabs my wrists and pins them next to my head.                 “Do you really think you have a choice?” He spits holding my frame down underneath him. “You will do as your told. You are now mine and I get to do whatever I want with you.” I look away from him flinching at the tone he is using. “I want you to remember that you are nothing and right now no one cares enough to even come save you.” He pulls himself off of me and walks back over to his girlfriend.               My eyes brim with tears as I scrunch my eyes shut trying not to let them escape. I hear someone enter the room softly. “I’m sorry to interrupt, but I believe our young Luna needs to rest.” Dr. Zachariah says softly. I have never been so thankful for a doctor until this moment.               “Fine, make sure she is in perfect health so that she can handle her next duty.” Dominic says quickly before exiting with Mia.               I find myself curled up in a ball on the bed. The moment my evil captor leaves with his skank I find myself sobbing. Dr. Zachariah sits next to me with a sorrowful look. He quietly hands me an ice pack and gestures me to place it on my cheek. After listening to me sob for a few minutes the doctor clears his throat slightly.                “Emmeline. Dominic is not your average Alpha, and this is not your average pack. Many of us only joined due to having nowhere else to go. You see we were all rogues until Dominic started created the Black Fire Pack. He wants to take down those who sit at the head of our nation. He believes that the elders wronged him and took away his birth right. He and his group of loyal rogues followers rule over this pack using fear. He will stop at nothing. You need to be careful.” He says giving me a sympathetic look. “Will you help me?” I ask him pointedly while feeling frustrated and terrified at the same time. The doctor is silent for a few minutes but then slowly nods.               “I will try my best Emmeline.” He says softly with a small tight smile.               “Good. Because I am not going to stay here.” I state throwing off the blanket on the hospital bed. Dr. Adams chuckles at me and pulls the covers back over my legs.               “First you need to fully heal.” He says with a smile as he starts to fuss with some of the machines in the room. The smile quickly fades as his eyes glaze over briefly. “The Alpha is on his way.”               Right the female from earlier walks into the room. “Dr. Adams I was instructed to take her sizes and get her some clothes. Alpha wants her to be ready to leave as soon as possible.” She states. Dr. Adams just nods and moves out of the way. The nurse hands me a blue tank nightgown. “This will do for while you are still admitted.” She says while helping me change.               After putting on some actual clothes I pull myself up from the bed and into a wheelchair so that I could use the bathroom to freshen up. Dr. Adams informed me that he would be right outside if I needed anything. Grabbing onto the counter on the vanity in the bathroom I am able to hoist myself up. I see my reflection for the first time and gasp out of shock. The reflection that greets me is not one I am use to. My hair now falls down to my lower back in soft, thick waves. My eyes are no longer hazel but gray. While I am still skinny, my body took the time to also develop more curves. I now resemble the girls on the magazines that Lily would try to copy. I take a step back to take in more of my appearance but stumble due to my weak legs. Luckily, Dr. Adams is behind me and catches me. “Careful. Your body is adjusting to being asleep for so long.” He states and helps lower me back into the wheelchair. “What do you mean by so long?” I state glancing back towards him. He remains quiet for a moment shaking his head softly. “Emmeline, I’m sorry but you were in a coma for the last year.” That was all it took to make me lose it. All I had was Dr. Adams to hold me as a sobbed.
