Chapter 7- Tony

"You can do this, you can do this." I muttered to myself as I paced around my room, my hands rubbing against the front of my pants. "He loves you, you love him, what's there to worry about?" A lot actually. Especially when you're dating the god of trickery. This whole thing could just be one of his pranks. The damn trickster playing with my heart. "No. What am I thinking? Of course he loves me." I mumbled before sighing, sliding a hand down my face and collapsing onto my bed. Loki and I have been dating for a year now- er, a little over a year now and we were going out to celebrate since we missed our actual anniversary. I had the brilliant idea of asking Loki to marry me tonight. At the time, I thought it wouldn't be so nerve racking but man was I wrong. How could I have been so clueless? First it was the ring. Never once did I think there'd be so many different stones on a silver or gold band out there. Honestly women, you only have ten fingers. I had to enlist the help of Natasha after I almost had a panic attack in the store. She calmed me down and helped me pick. I think it's safe to say we picked the best one out there (and trust me, there were a lot out there). Then it was planning dinner tonight. Sure, Loki and I were already planning something for our anniversary and that day had just slipped our minds so we were a little off but it's quite difficult planning something this huge without him knowing. We were planning on going out to dinner so there wasn't too much planning on that. But because of that, it confused him every time I was too busy planning to spend time with him. But here I was, a genius, billionaire, playboy, philanthropist, pacing his room because he's worried about the answer the love of his life will give him to a simple question. How pathetic can I be, honestly? Loki was in Natasha's room getting help on what to wear. But me on the other hand. . . I haven't even brushed my hair yet. So I randomly pick out a suit and threw on a tie. My fingers brushed along the pattern as I stared down at it. The tie I had picked was an emerald green and cranberry red. A smirk tugged at my lips. Flattening it down, I walked over to the sink and brushed my teeth then untangled my hair. 5:15, the clock on my bedside table read. I wasn't supposed to pick up Loki until a quarter to six. Guess I'll just go to the florist to kill time. ~~~ Walking onto Natasha's floor, a bouquet of red roses in my hand, I went straight for the door and knock. My heart pounded against my chest and it felt like years before someone answered the door. Natasha smirked upon seeing me. "Right this way." She said, gesturing for me to go inside. Waiting for me inside was this most amazing creature in the middle of the room. It was Loki, I was sure of that. But at the same time it wasn't. Not the Loki I know at least. "Who are you and what did you do with my Loki?" I asked, looking the figure over. "I can dress up when I want to." He, or really, she said with a smirk. My heart was in my throat at this point. Who died and made me the luckiest man on earth? Wait. That's not how the phrase goes. "That's not what I meant and you know it." Her eyes twinkled with mischief as we shared a smirk. I waved my hand over her body. "You're. . ." I seemed to be at a loss of words. "You're. . ." "A woman?" She asked, her painted red lips staying parted, her tongue pressed against the roof of her mouth. I glanced to the redhead who was still by the door. She was smirking and watching us, arms crossed. I looked back at my date. "Mhm." I hummed, not trusting my voice. Man did she have curves. Her smirk grew, pulling me by my tie until she could whisper in my ear. "They don't call me the trickster for nothing, dear Anthony. And you of all people should know what I'm capable of doing." She pulled away with a wink. "But as it has slipped your mind, let me offer you a little refresher. I am a shapeshifter, I can appear to be whichever gender I choose as whatever I choose to be. Though I tend to be male, I do favor my female form every now and then." I smiled. "Then what should I call you?" I asked. She laughed. "Loki will do just fine." I nodded and offered my arm out to her. "Alright then Loki, shall we go on that date of ours?" Loki laughed as she wrapped her arm around mine. "We shall." I winked at Natasha as we made our way out. We walked to the garage and got into the most expensive car I owned. It was our anniversary dinner after all. I pulled out and start driving to the restaurant. Oh s**t! Do I have the ring? I thought to myself, almost swerving into oncoming traffic. Loki's eyes widened as she put her arms out in front of her in case we crashed. I corrected ourselves as I quickly checked my pocket. Sighing in relief, I felt the velvet box that contained our ring. "Did you forget to drive for a split second? You could've killed us?" Loki complained, cautiously relaxing her arms back at her sides. "No I- I was just-" I cut myself short upon seeing Loki's smirk. "The flowers are for you by the way." I told her. She grabbed them off the center counsel and smiled. "They're lovely." She commented, placing a rose in her hair. That just made her look even more perfect than she already is. ~~~ When we got to the restaurant we ordered our food then ate. Now we're just waiting for the dessert I pre-ordered. I got Loki a piece of the most delicious chocolate cake here. On it was going to be a fake ring, the real ring still in my pocket. I just got vanilla ice cream for myself, thinking I wouldn't be able to keep anything down. Finally the dessert came out and Loki took a bite. She smiled, setting the fork down softly. "Everything was delicious. Thank you, Anthony." I smiled. "No problem, babe. But you might want to pay a little more attention to the decor." She raised an eyebrow. "Whatever do you mean by that?" She asked, bowing her head to see. "It looks like a-" She stopped. That was my signal to start. "Is that what I-" She couldn't finish. I got down on one knee, facing the side of her chair. Her eyes widened. "Anthony, what are you-" "No need to speak." I told her, cutting her off. "Loki since the moment I saw you, for the second time, I realized how madly in love with you I was. Weeks past and I loved every minute of them because I was spending them with you. You have been the second person I have actually fallen madly in love with. But what makes you special is the fact that you are the only person I have actually thought about marrying." With that, I took out the ring box and opened it to revel the beautiful gold ring with a green stone carved into it in the shape of a heart. On the inside of the ring were the words Ironfrost Forever engraved. That was the "ship name" Natasha and Clint gave us after they found out we were dating. I took in a deep breath before continuing. "So with all that said, Loki will you marry me?"
