Summer love

Chapter one

(Jordans POV)

I was going away for summer break with my friends, we were renting a holiday home close to moonlight lake. It was a quiet place most of the time only really full during the peak of summer when people would come and enjoy the day by the lake with their family and friends or rent cozy cabinets and holiday homes nearby to get away from the hustle and bustle of their city lives. My friends and I had just finished matric and decided to go away for a month after we received our results and before heading back to harsh reality, every single one of us had a different reality to go back to but it was not a problem or at least not until the month was over and we had to return from Midnight lake. It was an hour drive from where we stayed to the holiday house, we all agreed to meet at my house at 10:00 on the 10th of December 2021 as my dad said we could lend his Jeep and minivan for the trip.

We were all receiving our matric certificates today and just waiting for the time to go and collect it seemed like forever. I woke up this morning at 10:00, which frustrated me because we only had to collect our certificates at 14:00, I slowly got out of bed and headed downstairs where I was greeted by very excited parents far too excited for this hour of the morning. I said good morning and made myself my usually black coffee with three sugars, sat at the dining table and finished my coffee while scrolling through i********:. It took me an hour to fully wake up, once I was mentally awake, I headed upstairs to my room and took a shower and got dressed in a black pair of jeans with a plain white t-shirt with a black Nike sign on it, black and white Nike sports bra, and a pair of white air force 1’s. Time went slow after that as I scrolled through i********: and t****k for a while but once it was time to collect the certificates everything seemed to have wrapped up quickly. We all passed with at least a bachelors which meant no one would be backing out the trip. Once we had gotten our certificates, we decided to head to Bossa for a few drinks to celebrate. Of course a few drinks landed up being a lot of drinks. We drank till midnight which meant we drank the day away and most left early because they could not even stand straight. All that mattered was myself and my three closest friends were left, Kyle, Luke, and Amber. The rest were friends I was not really close with, but they were somewhat close with the rest or family friends of the rest.

After I had split up with Kyle, Luke and Amber I headed off to the nearest McDonalds to get food before heading home and sleeping the alcohol off before tomorrow’s big trip to Midnight Lake Lodge house. Going through the drive thru I ordered my favorite double quarter pounder cheese with a chocolate milkshake and as I rolled forward to the pay window, I reached around in my jean pocket looking for my wallet to get my card to pay. When I finally got my card in looked up to see a hot girl around my age leaning her elbows on the windowpane with her chin cupped in her hands smiling,

“Well, hello there. That will be 114.90” she said, winking. She was hot but was too drunk and tired with an early morning ahead. I showed her my card and she handed me the card machine flirting and trying to pick up lines on me, I tapped my hard and rolled forward to the next and last window, I took my food and said a small thank you and headed to the parking lot. I looked for an empty parking space and packed my car, once I was parked, I connected my phone to the car and started playing a trance playlist while I sat slowly eating my meal in the car, enjoying every bite, and just savoring the moment.

I was just about done when I heard a tap on my window, it was the young lady from the pay window who was so desperately trying to flirt with me. I slowly rolled down my window and looked at her smiling at me,

“And how can I help you, miss?” I started trying not to seem rude.

Her smile broadened as if me giving her the slightest bit of attention was the greatest thing that had happened to her all day.

“I just wanted to let you know that you are one of the hottest mascs I have ever seen before.”

I wanted to tell her how I did not like desperate and was drowning it,

but I bite my tongue and said,

“Thank you, if that is all, can you throw this out for me.”

I handed her my McDonalds bag filled with the rubbish and reversed and sped home. It was around 01:30 when I got home, when I got home, I rolled up the front driveway and opened the garage and once the garage opened, I pulled my car in and parked it for the night. I closed the garage and quietly headed upstairs to my room, opened the door, and closed it as quietly as I could before walking over to my bed and throwing myself on it. I laid there for a few minutes before I shot up and realized I needed to get rid of my jeans. I got up, took off my jeans, t-shirt, and sports bra, threw it in the wash hamper and headed to the cupboard where I grabbed a grey pair of sweatpants, put it on and headed back to bed. Falling into a deep sleep.
