Chapter 31: Goodbye
Catherine slowly came back to herself and drank some iced tea to clear her throat. “Did you get your answers?” She asked tiredly. I nodded, “yes, thank you so much, I didn’t even know it was possible to talk to her.” She nodded, smiling and said, “if you don’t mind, I’m really tired now and could do with some rest.” “Of course! We’ll let you rest.” We got up and left. On the way back, Nick seemed calmer, he still looked cold and scary, but I could almost feel his relief to know his family were happy and pain free now. I slipped my hand in his, realized what I’d done, and quickly dropped it. “Sorry.” He looked at me for a minute and then took my hand again.
