In the kitchen,

I scrolled through the online recipes on how to make an omelette. That looked easy. I can totally do it!

First I heated the pan. Then poured a little bit of oil. A little while later, I fried chopped onions and chillies with ginger paste. I stirred them in low heat.

So far, I was doing fine. Then I read the next point. 'add a pinch of salt'. Huh? How much is a pinch of salt? Confused, I searched online on how much is a pinch of salt. And bingo!

1 pinch of salt=0.36grams. OK I just need to get 0.36grams of salt. How do I weigh it though? Quickly I mindlinked Dylan. Dylan get me 0.36grams of table salt. No more, no less.

Huh? Why do you need it? He asked confused.

Don't ask! I said and cut off the mind link.

Satisfied, I turned my attention back to my frying pan. To my utter dismay, the ingredients were as black as coal.

NO! NO! NO!!!! I poured water in panic only to mess things up again.

Why? Why did it happen to me? I was almost done. I was so disappointed that I felt like the whole universe was against me.

When I felt like all hope was lost, I heard a soft chuckle. I turned around to face the intruder. It was one of the kitchen maids. Even the maids are laughing at me.

"If you don't mind, allow me to help you Beta" she said softly.

"Aren't you afraid that I'll set the kitchen on fire and get you killed?" I asked, feeling defeated.

She snickered, "we've got the fire extinguishers if that happens"

"That makes sense." I nodded. "Fine. Let's do it your way" I said and invited her to help me.

We both started cooking together. With her help, it felt so much easier and in no time we were done.

"Wow! You're a genius!" I exclaimed looking at the omelette in front of us.

"That was easy. You worked hard too, Beta. So, it's our mutual effort" she smiled.

"Still you're awesome" I complimented her.

"Thank you, Beta" she blushed. "All the girls will go crazy if they know that we cooked together."

"What's the big deal? It's just cooking together." I shrugged.

She shook her head. "You don't know but since the day that you beat Max and Tim, every girls are crazy for you...... Including me" she said the last part in a barely audible sound. If it weren't for my werewolf hearing, I wouldn't know what she said. She was blushing slightly.

I really didn't know that that many girls were crazy for me. "Well... Thank you for your admiration. I appreciate it" I said awkwardly,not knowing what to say.

She looked at me surprised, but then she began to smile. "You really are a gentleman. May I hug you, Beta?" she asked out of the blue.

I gave her a perplexed look. Realizing what she'd said, she tried to explain, "Oh.. ah.. Just a friendly hug. It's OK if you don't want to. It's just that I really wanted to hug you when I saw you. I promise I've no perverse intensions." she said fidgeting nervously. She was looking anywhere but me.

I looked at the lovesick girl in front of me and shook my head." Of course I don't mind" I said as I opened my arms. She looked at me to make sure if I was kidding. When she didn't find any signs of pretense, she wrapped her hands around me. It lasted only for a moment before I pulled away. She looked a bit disappointed but still managed to smile. I smiled and parted ways with her.

Impressed with my efforts, I set the food on the table and headed to call the Alpha. As usual he was in his office. But this time, he seemed mad as soon as I entered the room. His icy look was enough to freeze my blood. However I took bold steps towards him with a bright smile. Before I could say anything, he slammed his fist on his desk.

Frightened, I took a few steps back. Why's he so mad? He glared at me with the same intensity.

"What were you doing ? " he asked in a cold voice.

I gulped. Did he find out that I burnt the first serving? Is he mad because I wasted his food?

"I was cooking for you, Alpha." I replied.

"With whom?" he asked.

Crap! Did he find out that I took help from one of his maids? Will he punish me for that?

"A maid" I replied, my palms sweaty.

"What did you two do?" he looked as if he wanted to beat me to death.

"we cooked"

"nothing else?"

I shook my head. What else could we do?

He got up from his seat and took steps towards me. I was so scared that I unconsciously backed away. The Alpha was too close for my comfort. And the look he was giving me made me want to dig a hole and hide for a long time. I jolted in surprise when my back hit the door. I tried to step aside but his hand slammed on the wall. I tried escaping the other way but he slammed his other hand on the wall too, totally caging me. I looked up at him in fear. He looked as if he wanted to devour me any second.

"If you did nothing, then why is her smell all over you?" he asked angrily.

Confused, I took a whiff of my own body but got nothing. Then it hit me, I'd temporarily lost my sense of smell due to my allergic reaction.

"It must be due to I gave her a hug" I said recalling the hug I gave her.

"You gave her a hug?"

The Alpha looked even more furious. Did he actually like that girl? If that's the reason why he's angry then I'm dead for sure. I should have stayed away from her. I mentally smacked myself. Stupid, stupid, stupid me!

"Listen, I'm warning you for the first and last time. Don't go anywhere near that girl" he said through gritted teeth. I nodded vigorously. I'll never go anywhere near her. I don't want to die so soon.

He sighed and rested his head on my shoulder. I felt him take a whiff of my scent sending shivers down my spine.

"Why did you have to hug her?" he mumbled. He sounded upset. He must be so mad at me for hugging his girl. I can understand.

"Don't worry Alpha, this is the last time you'll ever see me with her. I promise"

He looked at me to confirm if I was telling the truth. I gave him my most sincere smile to assure him. He looked away with an expressionless face and walked back to his desk. I sighed in relief. He scared me to death!

"Alpha.... Y" I was interrupted by him. "You still need to receive punishment for your mistake" he said.

WHAT? I thought he'd forgiven me.

"Go and clean my room in seven minutes?" came his order. At that moment I wanted to smack him so bad that I felt my heart racing.

But my calm demeanour remained the same on the outside. "Yes Alpha" I had to refrain myself from gritting my teeth. What's happening to me? I'd never been this affected by anyone before. No one could ever make me mad in the past but now, he disturbs my calm waves of happiness. It's as if he has infected me with some irritating virus that's slowly consuming me.

In the Alpha's room,

I had protected my body and was ready to take on the mission. Mission cleaning the Alpha room spotless. A surge of energy rushed through my body as I picked up my cleaning supplies. As I was about to start cleaning, I heard a dreadful sound.

~meow~

I froze midway. Is it what I think it is?

~meow~

This time, it sounded closer. What the heck! Why can't I move my body?

~meow~

I felt something between my legs. It rubbed itself to my legs and encircled me.

I summoned courage to look down. To my dismay, I saw my worst nightmare clinging to me.

Trembling, I jerked my leg to get rid of it but it just won't go away. It was even closer to me.

"please let me go little kitty. I'll give you as much fish as you like if you let me off the hook this time" I was literally begging to the cat. But the little furry demon was in no mood to listen to me.

~sneeze~

Not again! Why am I always so unlucky?

I tried to run away but tripped on my own leg and fell face down. I groaned in pain. That hurt so bad.

The white furry beast was in front my my face now scratching the plastic helmet lightly.

It licked my hair. I was almost at my limit. My vision started to get blurry and before I knew it, I fainted.

No one's P.O.V

A certain someone was stuck weighing the 0.36 grams of table salt.

"0.34 grams..... 0.35grams......0.36grams.."

Finally! Finally! 0.36grams of table salt was ready. Dylan could finally be relieved of the annoying task. In his excitement, he jumped without looking around. Unfortunately he kicked the 0.36grams of table salt that he'd finally managed weigh.
