Neeko's P.O.V

Ruth looked at the intruder in anger. Her purple orbs clearly disappointed. I looked at the person in curiosity and to my utter surprise, there stood a very angry looking Alpha who was clearly shooting daggers at Ruth.

Ruth wasn't the one to back down from a challenge even if it cost her life. She boldly faced him returning the glare with the same intensity and hatred. Oh no!

I quickly got up from the ground and got in between the two glaring wolves. I pushed Ruth behind me despite her protests and faced the Alpha.

"Alpha, please forgive her. I apologise on her behalf" I said without meeting his eyes. My eyes were on the ground the whole time I apologized.

The Alpha was clearly unhappy judging by the vibes he was giving off.

"You apologize on her behalf?" he scoffed in disbelief, disappointment coating his every word. "Fine. You'll clean the whole pack house and no one's allowed to help you. I'll kill anyone who helps you."

"Are you crazy?" Ruth said in disbelief. I stopped her before she could say anything further. Her eyes were back to normal. I was relieved but the troubles hadn't passed yet. But I would be happy as long as she is out of trouble.

I looked at the Alpha and bowed to him. "Yes Alpha!"

"Ruth, you've to promise me that you won't cause any troubles" I said sternly at a certain red head who was stubbornly sulking in a corner.

"It's not my fault" she snapped. "It's that damn Alpha's fault" she said with hatred in her eyes.

"Yes, it's his fault. You happy?" I smiled looking at her childish form.

"You only say that to satisfy me, don't you?" she said, not even bothering to look at me.

"You're right. So, are you satisfied?" I asked smiling softly at her.

"No!" She snapped as she turned her head away. "You won't even defend your lie. I hate that damn Alpha"

I smiled and turned to Asher who was shaking his head at his sister's childish nature.

"Asher, I'm leaving your big sis to you. Can I count on you to take care of her?" I asked the little boy.

"You can totally count on me. I promise I'll take good care of her. You don't have to worry big brother Nathan" he said with confidence as he flashed me his pearly white teeth.

"Shut up! I can take care of myself. I'm not a kid" Ruth grumbled making me shake my head with a faint smile.

"Of course you can. Just don't get in trouble" I said before exiting the room folled by Ruth's grunt in response.

It was time to clean the freaking pack house and I was so not ready for the job. But I didn't have a choice. I was well equipped and ready to go on my cleaning duty.

I started from the kitchen. I wasn't surprised to see the confused maids whispering to each other. Why would the Beta clean the freaking mansion? Of course he's being punished for some stupid bickering. What a pain!

Some of them offered to help but I politely refused, afraid that they'd lose their jobs if the Alpha came to know of it. I was annoyed by the lovesick maids following me around like lost puppies. They would just pretend to be doing their job when I looked at them. I really didn't understand what was so interesting to watch someone clean the floors.

All rooms were done except for the Alpha's office and bedroom. I was nervous to face him after what happened last time but I was surprised to find the office empty when I entered. Glad to have no distraction, I quickly finished cleaning in no time and headed for the bedroom.

I felt reluctant to enter his room as I stood in front of his bedroom door. But I eventually opened it praying that he wouldn't be there. A strong wave of his masculine scent hit my nose as soon as I open the door. My prayers came crashing down when I saw the Alpha on the bed with a book on his hand. He looked so focused and engrossed in his book that he didn't even seem to detect my presence. So I closed the door as quietly as possible and tried to be as quiet as a mouse. .

I got to work hoping to get it done as soon as possible. But for some reason I felt uncomfortable af if someone was boring holes on my back but when I turned around to look at the Alpha, he would be there reading his book silently. Was I being paranoid? I brushed off those thoughts aside and focused on the job at hand. With his overwhelming scent driving me crazy, it was almost impossible to loose my cool. I nearly broke one of his precious items. I finished the work as fast as I could and headed for the door, eager to escape his addicting presence. When I turned the doorknob to open the door, it was slammed shut again by the Alpha.

He was standing so close to me that I could feel his breath tickling my skin. I visibly flinched when his lips made contact with my skin, making a shiver of pleasure run down my spine. He nibbled on my ears and slowly trailed down kisses on my neck. It was so overwhelming that I had to clench the handle of the mop to prevent myself from getting weak.

He started sucking on my skin making me want to moan but I suppressed it. I let go of the mop and rested both my hands on the door to support myself from falling. He kept on sucking on my soft spots and I finally let out a moan against own will. He smirked against my skin as he continued to t*****e me.

"Alpha... P.. Please stop" I said in a weak voice with what little rationality I'd left. But he didn't seem to hear it as he continued to nibble on my shoulder.

"Alpha.. Please stop" I said again, this time a little stronger but not as strong as my usual self. It worked though and he stopped, finally letting me breathe normally again.

He didn't make an effort to move away neither did I tried to push him away. For a while we stood like that savouring the sweetness of the silence.

"Alpha.. I should go" I was the first one to break the silence.

"Why? Why would you do that?" The Alpha asked completely ignoring my previous statement. "Why would you choose her over me?" he asked again, this time sounding a little angry. I didn't know how to answer that question. Perhaps, I didn't have the right answer and even if I did, I didn't how how to explain it to him.

When he saw that I wasn't answering him, he turned me to him and made me look into his eyes. "Is it due to the mate bond? If that's the case, then I'll get the strongest witch to break the bond and you'll be free to be mine" he said sounding serious, so serious that it almost scared me.

"You'll do no such thing Alpha" I said firmly looking straight at him.

"Then do you want me to watch you be with someone else?" he asked in a somewhat pitiful manner that somehow broke my heart.

"You'll heal once you find your mate and you'll completely forget about me. It's just infatuation, not love. You'll be in love once you find your mate. At that time everything you feel now will look so ridiculous to you" I said trying to convince myself rather than him.

"Is that how you feel? Ridiculous?" he asked me, his eyes filled with unreadable emotions.

"No..." I said in a small voice as I looked away not knowing what to say anymore.

"look at me!" he ordered. But I didn't listen to him.

He held my chin and made me look into his soul piercing green orbs. I felt sucked in by them. The more I looked into them, the more I felt attracted to him. And at that time, I knew I'm not the same person as I was yesterday as I leaned closer to him. He didn't make any attempt to mover closer or to move away. He just stayed where he was as if he knew that I'd come to him on my own accord. And I did.

I leaned closer and closer to him till I could feel his breath on my face. I brushed my lips slightly against his and decided to pull away but was instantly pulled back to his chest.

This time it didn't have the urgency that I felt before or the burning passion that was ignited within us. Only his warmth and love. He was letting me feel his warmth.

"I'm too afraid to lose you and even too afraid to break you. I want you to be mine and only mine." he whispered in my hair and I felt a surge of emotions in my heart that I'd never felt before. I was happy but at the same time I was scared. Scared that he'd hate me if he finds out my lie. That he'd never want to see me... I was just so scared.

" Alpha... I should go" I pulled away from his hug and was ready to walk away but he held my hand.

"Don't go"he whispered, making my heart skip a beat and melt in the mixture of joy and sorrow. His eyes were pleading and he looked vulnerable. I could never say no to this guy even if my rationality screamed a big No!

"OK" the thing that I realized when I said that word was that he'd already become my weakness.
