Neeko's P.O.V
Cramped between the Alpha and Ruth, I stayed silently in the back seat as both of them squeezed me in an attempt to push each other further, squeezing the life out of me in the process. None of them cared to consider me dying in the middle of their silent war as I tried expanding the distance between them, only to be squeezed mercilessly. I looked at both of their faces. They didn't show any signs of discomfort, rather very relaxed, almost too real to be true. I shook my head in disbelief. So childish! How did I even end up here anyway?
Well, I remember a certain someone push me in the back seat with the Alpha. Ruth tried to get in but was stopped by the sly delta who shut the door in her face. However that didn't discourage her from sitting next to me. She ran to the other side and forced in, earning a dissatisfied growl from the Alpha beside me. And that eventually led to this situation as we drove on our way.
I glared at the back of Dylan who was so focused on the road, driving, singing whatever music was playing. Perhaps he didn't realize or just decided to ignore my burning glare, he didn't look at me. Beside him was Tyler, one of the brilliant warrior of the pack. He was glancing at me pitifully every now and then but didn't bother to intervene. But I wanted him to.... Anything to save me from those two living grinding machines. I won't find it surprising if I find out that these two conspired to squeeze the life out of me.
Ruth and Alpha were still playing their push - push war, when I could no longer tolerate them anymore.
"You tw-o......" Ruth knocked the breath out of me as I gasped due to the sudden impact of force. What a nice day to hunt. I think I'll start from the two wolves sitting beside me.
But I was so weak that I couldn't even utter a word. When I finally regained my strength, I found the Alpha staring at me with concern accompanied by the guilty looking Ruth. The car had stopped and everyone's eyes were on me.
"I'm fine" I forced a smile to assure them. The Alpha seemed rigid even after I said that and his expression looked solemn. I didn't know what he was thinking and judging by his expression and the aura he was emitting, it couldn't be pleasant.
"Alpha, I'm totally fine. We can move now'' I said trying to lighten up his mood but that didn't seem to affect him a bit. He looked at me briefly, his eyes filled with concern, anger, and guilt that quickly moved on to land on equally concerned Ruth.
" You, sit on the front seat." he said firmly, earning an angry growl from Ruth.
"Why the f**k should I sit there? Besides, there's no space for three people." she scoffed at his command.
"Nathan is injured. He needs space. If you refuse to obey, I'll be happy to kick you out of the car" he said darkly, as if even talking to her was a waste of his precious breath.
"I-I'm not injured" I spoke out but was shut down immediately by the Alpha's glare. I looked away and shut my mouth. Every word is futile once he's angry. Ruth didn't argue anymore. I heard her walk out and squeeze into the front seat, followed by her series of curses.
I sat quietly watching the trees pass by as I played with my fingers. I didn't realize the Alpha watching me until he spoke up.
"Do you know why we are going on the rouge hunt?" he asked.
I shook my head. "It's for your training" he said. "You are the Beta of our pack yet you are the weakest in combat. You're nothing without your wolf. So you've to train to get stronger during this period of time"
I found myself nodding my head as he finished, feeling slightly bad for being weak. I know that I'm weak. But does he have to poke it out?
The rest of the ride was silent. The only disturbing thing being Ruth, who anxiously turned to us and watched us like a hwak. She can be such a nuisance sometimes.

Once inside the forest, I was left alone. Everyone went their separate ways. They didn't necessarily needed any training as I did, but they could patrol around the forest. I on the other hand, was a little freaked out. Rouges are known to be very powerful werewolves who have lost their sanity and behave like animals. This happens when a werewolf loses a mate or undergoes some unbearable physical or emotional changes, making them lose their rational part as the beast totally takes over them. Their strength is determined by their rank. Like normal werewolves, they also have ranks. The higher the rank, the higher their strength and vice versa. It must be painful to live like that. Living without knowing what one is doing.
I heard a c***k behind me and my body became alert. I turned around cautiously, afraid that I'd anger the beast behind me since this was my first encounter with a rouge. But when I fully turned around, I was shocked to find something else, or rather someone else.
A person dressed in black robe stood in front of me. His face was beautiful as his dark blue eyes peered at me. It didn't take me long to realize that it was the same figure that I'd met in the southern border. His lips curved up as he moved closer to me. He put his hand on my cheek and I leaned away from his touch in caution.
"Who are you?" I asked "and why are you following me?"
His smile grew wider at my question, making him look more charming. But not as charming as the Alpha. My mind unconsciously brought up the Alpha, comparing him to the being in front of me who didn't even look normal.
"I'm the one who's supposed to be your soul mate" he smiled revealing his beautiful teeth and looked adoringly at me as if we were long lost friends meeting after a period of decades.
" no.. You're not my soul mate. I don't feel any connection to you" I said not liking the idea of being his mate one bit.
He laughed at my statement. "You don't need to darling. Just the element of love is enough" he said moving closer to me.
He placed his finger on my lips and traced them, making me uncomfortable as an involuntary growl escaped my throat.
He smirked at my reaction and removed his fingers from my lips, lifting his hands up in surrender.
"Still feisty, huh?" he sounded like we already knew each other. But whether it was true or not, I didn't have any momories of him.
"I don't know you. What's your purpose behind your friendly mask?" I frowned as I crossed my arms across my chest, my suspicion rising at its peak.
"Just because you don't remember me doesn't me our friendship never existed." he sighed. His eyes wandered sofly on my features as I stared firmly at him, finding his words hard to believe.
"Anyway, I'll take you away from here." he said as if he was certain to succeed. His creepy remarks surely gave me goosebumps though.
"Away from your stupid mate, and we'll be together forever" his next sentence shook me as I looked at him for explanation. Mate?
"You know who my mate is?" I asked, my curiosity getting the best of me as I no longer felt the need to have my guard up. For some reason, I felt that he wouldn't hurt me.
"Of course I do" he smirked "but you're not allowed to be with him. You're mine"
You're mine, those words rang like an alarm in my head as a wave of uneasiness swept over me. And the way that he referred to me as a thing just boiled my blood. I glared at him in warning.
"You talk too much rubbish!" I gritted my teeth with a growl and moved swiftly forward to attack him. But he was too fast, and easily dodged. The next thing I knew was, he was standing behind me as his hands locked mine behind. I jerked to set myself free but even with mine and Rex's power combined, it seemed futile. He was too strong.
I cursed at my own inability as I wrecked my brain to find a way.
A shiver ran down my spine when his breath tickled my ear as he whispered, "I'm already impatient enough. If you do that, I won't be able to hold back". And he kissed my ear before vanishing out of my sight, leaving me puzzled and disgusted. His touch didn't feel as pleasant as the Alpha's and his charming beauty didn't make my heart skip a beat. But I didn't seem to hate him either. What's happening to me? Did I really know him and forget about him?
