The house had gone quiet. Too quiet. I had retreated to my bedroom, robe sliding from my shoulders as I let it pool onto the floor, leaving me in nothing but a thin slip of silk. My skin hummed from his touch on the balcony, my lips still tingling from how close he’d come. I hated that I wanted more. I hated that I wanted him.
