AIDEN.
When I got out of my car and walked into the living room, I noticed my mother sitting on the couch, reading some fashion magazines. I sighed and sat opposite her on the sofa, crossing my left leg over the other with a deep sigh.
“You are back?” She smiled and focused on me, putting down her magazine on the glass table across from her and took some documents from the table.
“Yeah,” I nodded. “You called me over. Did something happen to the pack, mother?” I questioned, because of how relaxed she was. If nothing happened at the pack, then why did she call me here? She seemed too composed for my taste. Or did she call me concerning the preparations of the wedding between Aurora and I. If not for the wedding plans, what else would she call me here for?
“No, son.” She responded and opened some documents on her lap. “It’s nothing problematic but a serious issue.”
“Serious issue??”
“Yes.” She agreed with me. “There’s someone important I would like you to meet. At the library. He summons your presence before him.” She crossed her right leg over the other and continued. “He wants no other wolf to help him except for you.”
He wants to see me? Who was this werewolf who demanded my presence before him? And why does he want to see me privately? I’m definitely sure he’s an alpha because no one has such power to demand to see me if he wasn’t an alpha.
“Why?” I frowned and thought for a second.
“You are the son of an alpha. An heir to this pack. An important figure. So, of course, he would love to see you.”
“Really?” Now I'm getting more curious to know who this mysterious person is.
“Yes.” My mother answered. “He said he wants you to help him with some important details. Go right now and see for yourself.”
I stood up on my feet, wondering who it was. I'm exhausted as hell as it is.
“Remember, act polite and professional. Don’t cause any issues.”
“Okay, mother.” I walked past her.
“How are the wedding preparations going on?”
I hesitated. “They are alright. No issues at all.” I responded.
“Alright, go to the library quickly. Don’t keep him waiting.” She instructed.
I rolled my eyes and walked along the hallway, passing the garden. I saw a lean, muscular figure standing at the edge of the staircases to the garden and staring at the waterfall beside a little hill in the garden.
His long blonde hair, waved along with the breeze, plastered across his face, along with his little rough edges at the front of his head. He slightly slid his fingers backwards, putting his hair into place. His other arm held his black overcoat. Wore a silver plain long sleeve, showing his collar bones, black trousers and black boots. I saw six silver pins on the right side of his ear. His skin smoked a little pale.
His golden eyelashes. Center part blonde hair. Slightly pink lips. Smooth skin. Golden eyes. That smell. Pheromones. His sharp features and perfect nose. His majestic posture and how he stares at the waterfall took me aback.
My heart pounded so fast I took a few steps back. I couldn’t believe it. There was no way this was the alpha who summoned my presence before him. What is my mother thinking?
My mother said he wanted to see me. Maybe I met the wrong alpha. I must be out of my mind. I am definitely seeing things.
I better turn back before he sees me. No, I’m definitely going crazy and seeing things. It isn’t him. I laughed quietly as I turned back, hoping he didn’t notice my presence. Why the hell am I running away from him?
He…has changed so much.
“Where do you think you are going, Aiden?”
I stopped in my tracks and couldn’t dare look behind me. Damn. He noticed my presence. I wish I hadn’t stared at him so much. I don’t think he would have known I was the one. I swallowed and turned back to him and switched my expression to a professional smile.
Why wouldn’t my heart stop pounding? Just calm down. He wouldn’t do anything harsh. It’s been ten years, after all. A lot of things have changed.

Alpha Lake Vargynja.
“Nowhere.” I smiled even more. “I didn’t want to disturb you.” What is wrong with my tone? I didn't want to disturb him? How could I act so casually before him instead of freaking out?
Alpha Lake Vargynja is back.
He exhaled and turned to face me. His eyes had lost their green color. What exactly happened to his eyes? And why does he seem younger?
Why is he back after all this time? Does he want Aurora back in his life? Has he come to take her back? He left her for 10 years without caring to know how she was coping. Why is he here? To take back his pack or destroy the relationship I’ve built with Aurora for years? Does he have any clue how he damaged Aurora when he abandoned her?
“It’s not what you think, Aiden.” He deeply muttered and brushed past me as if he could tell what I was thinking and added. “Follow me to the library. We’ve got a lot of work to do.”
Work to do? Why does he need me at the library with me? I followed him and we got to the library. Why was his hair down to his waist? I can’t recall Lake ever having such long hair and golden eyes.
This is making me nervous as s**t.
He got to a shelf as soon as we entered the library and wore his overcoat on himself and arranged his hair properly to fit in its place. He took an immense pile of books from the shelf and put them on the table. I stood five feet away from him and watched his every move.
Why did he come back?
“Don’t just stand there.” He commented and pointed at the shelf behind him. “Search for any files with a letter ‘A’ and bring them to me.”
“If I may ask, what are those files for?” What is he up to?
“You wouldn’t understand. Just bring it to me.”
Does he look at me like a kid or something? I wouldn't understand?
He swiped through the papers inside the file he was holding. I went to the shelf and searched for what he asked for. But one thing bugged the hell out of me. Why did he come back?
Did he come back for Aurora? Wait! He said I should search for any files with a letter ‘A’ on it, right? What if this file he is searching for concerns Aurora? And besides, he is not saying anything about anyone or his pack. He just acts as if we’ve known each other for ages. He isn’t even asking after Aurora or how she is doing? What is his motive? Why did he come back after ten years and meet up with my mother?
Why did he specifically want me in this library with him and no one?
I grabbed a bunch of books. Dropped them on the table beside me. He kept going through the files so fast.
