9/The meeting

Alexei's POV

Nine men of different age were sitted with bodyguards behind each of them. there were only three vacant chairs , one is a throne_like chair for grandpa, the second is the first chair on the left side of grandpa which is for mom , the third is the first chair on the right side of grandpa which is mine .

We all sat while Denis stood behind me . Mom is the only woman in this room, the meeting started with an opening speech from grandpa . Every one sitted watched me like wolves assessing a new alpha. Each person with their own kind of stare and opinion they were starting to create of me . It felt like they were waiting for me to make a mistake but I have being trained and personally trained myself for this day , I am literally living my dream.

One middle aged man addressed everyone in the room , he informed us of how the volkov family has being spying on us for a while but the traitors were taken care of by Alexei. The middle aged man seemed to be the one mom referred to as vetrov . After vetrov mentioned my name everyone's eye's turned to me , it seemed like some of them just started respecting me but there was still some men that stared at me like I did not deserve my seat on the table.

“Don't bother about the volkov family, they would be put on a leash every soon,” grandpa assured everyone sitted . I guess Tatiana is the leech that would be used against the volkov family.

“The profit from the previous sales of weapons has being successful laundered into success bank “ petrov informed us . I could still notice some men were still staring at me but there are two eyes that I know definitely dislikes me . I am pretty good at reading body language and this two old fools seems to be given be the chance to read everything about them .

The meeting continued, important stuffs were being talked about and I kept wondering when grandpa would introduce me to the others .

Mom is the adviser so she decided to share some advice. “As the adviser , I think we need to level up with the security business, both legal and illegal. If we want to remain one of the top security businesses in Russia” . After mom advice, the man who has being staring at me like I do not deserve my seat coughed at mom speech and decided to advise mom .

“Well adviser , I think you have a lot of work to do as a mother before advising us because Alexei here does not seem to be fit to seat on that chair “ the man said , I felt like showing him what I was made off but grandpa had not introduced me which means I have no right to speak .

Grandpa's expression changed and that of mom's . “What did you just say “ . Grandpa asked as his voice echoed in the entire room, if the room was not soundproof I guess his voice would have gotten outside.

“Uhmm , pakhan I don't mean it that way . I am just trying to say that Alexei needs more training and he's only here because of his bloodline and nothing else” . The man replied with fear written all over him .

“The bloodline you claim is the reason Alexei us here , is the same bloodline that's keeping you alive. Remember that . And if you can't respect that then get ready to loose everything including your life “ grandpa replied with his voice more louder .

Hearing this, the man started apologizing to us , but I wish grandpa had introduced me so I would have being the one to reply him . Now this old fool would be number one on the list of my enemies .

“i have an announcement but firstly I would like to inform anyone sitted at this table who would not respect me and my bloodline should get ready to have their bodies thrown into a river , then someone who is capable and respects the antonov would take your place in the next meeting “ . Everyone's comported themselves as they became scared .

“my announcement is that we have a new wolf at the table and he is blood of my blood . From today onward each and everyone of you will treat his words as mine . Alexei Antonov would observe and soon , command. “ everyone sitted at the table nodded to his words . Then grandpa gestured for me to speak.

“i am not here to impress . I'm here to learn who stands with my family and who pretends to. It's okay to think I am not worth sitting at this table but soon enough you will realize what I am made of and whose bloodline I belong “ . I could sense that they were impressed by my speech.

After everything was calm . “Thank you Natalia, for your advice. Alexei what do you think about the adviser's advice “ . Grandpa asked me .

“I think my mom_the adviser , has a valid point because we need to level up with the security business. If the antonov security agency wants to be the top security agency in Russia and other countries we need to level up both legally and illegally. We could start by getting a good , bigger yet discret area purchased , new recruits will be trained there then the ones who can handle illegal stuffs would be hired for the illegal part of the business. Weapons could also be kept underground, it could be built like a barracks. This is my view about the situation since we are short on security men .”

Everyone listened to me , there was no interruptions and I could see that I had just made mom and grandpa proud by not being intimidated , speaking clearly and giving good opinion.

“I think that's perfect, petrov what do you think about what Alexei said since you are in charge of recruiting men “ . Grandpa asked.

“Pakhan, I think Alexei has a good idea and if properly executed like he explained we could become number one in the country and build more revenue and power from this “ petrov explained .

“In that case , Alexei would handle this project and all reports go through him . From now on speak wisely because he hears everything “ . Grandpa announced and everyone appreciated my idea .

Few minutes later grandpa informed everyone that the meeting was over but nobody left the room . Everyone has something to say to me and my family. The old fool even apologized again but his apology has not taken him off my list . It was obvious that the man was really scared, well he had to because he just messed with the Antonov family.

Few minutes later grandpa gestured for us to leave, we left and the others followed behind us but with a bit of distance. Getting to where our car was parked we left and the SUV followed at the front and behind while the others drove out of the estate.

It was when we got home that I realized that grandpa was really angry at that man . “That fool needs to be put in his place” grandpa said furiously.

“I could kill him , if you want” I replied.

“That would be fun to watch “ grandpa tells us with a smirk. “It's not his time yet but once I'm ready to kill him , you will do the honours “ .

The smile on my face vanished, I wish I could have killed him there, then he would have known that I am not a weakling. But I guess I will have to find something fun to do until I can start pulling my stunts .

“Alexei , we would discuss about that girl's attempted kidnap tomorrow but for now you and Denis can bond “ . Mom and grandpa left the ground floor to their various floors.

I sat on the couch with Denis for a while before going to the home bar. I grabbed two bottles of vodka and asked Denis to take the glass . We took the elevator and went to my room .

We sat on a couch in my bedroom and Denis was formal around me , he kept calling me Boss. “We are alone, so you can stop calling me Boss, call me Alexei instead” .

“Ok Boss_sorry Alexei” .

“Denis can I trust you ? “ I asked and his expression changed.

“Yes Alexei, you can trust me “ he replied trying to convince me, I know I can trust Denis because grandpa picked him to be my right hand man.

“You know words don't bring about trust , it's actions. “ I replied in a stern tone as we continued drinking.

“I know Alexei, I will earn your trust “.

“Okay , so do you report to me or my grandfather ? “ I asked trying to study him and bond.

“I report mainly to you , I will only report to the pakhan if he asks for a report but he doesn't seem to be interested in monitoring you “ . He's being truthful, now I just have to know more about my new best friend.

“What's your story , why did grandpa pick you as my right hand man?“.

“Nothing much . I grew up in an orphanage home , stayed there till I was sixteen. At sixteen I felt like I no longer belong there so I left, made some friends and we started Robbing stalls, malls and other minor places until we decided to upgrade to robbing banks. We went for the robbery but the police got there on time some of my friends died while I was taken to prison . The pakhan brought me out of prison in less than twenty four hours because he heard I had potentials , I was trained for years and recently your grandfather hired me to be your right hand man but my job started today . That's all about me “. He said and at that time we had almost finished the bottles of vodka.

“Interesting. I need you to look into someone for me, her name is Tatiana volkov. Dig out everything about her past “ .

“Oh , your project. The pakhan already briefed me about her but I will look into her for you “ .

We talked for a while before he left for his room. “Be ready for the gym by 7:00 AM “ . I told him before he closed my door .

I changed into my pyjamas pants but did not wear the shirt. laid on my bed and my thoughts drifted to Tatiana.
