Freya immediately recognized the person walking in as Patrick and couldn't help but wonder what he was doing there. She remembered that she had given him Lola's phone number when he had taken her home once.
She hoped he wouldn't recognize her, so she quickly lowered her head.
"Where's Lexi?" Patrick asked as soon as he entered.
Being familiar with Patrick's position and reputation in the city, Abby stepped forward to greet him. "Patrick, are you here looking for Lexi? Unfortunately, she had some last-minute issues and couldn't attend the ribbon-cutting ceremony. I apologize for that."
Patrick frowned. "She didn't attend the ceremony?"
"Yes, Lexi has been extremely busy. It was quite a challenge to invite her, but something urgent came up, and she couldn't make it," Abby explained.
