It was nearly one o’clock by the time Carl and Harry returned to the office. Carl’s head had cleared and he was looking forward to lunch, despite the generous piece of carrot cake he had consumed at St Frank’s.
‘I’m going to Lena’s to buy something for lunch. Want anything?’ said Harry, as he parked the car.
‘One of those prosciutto baguettes and a flat white would be good.’ Carl handed him a twenty and headed towards the building, while Harry walked around into the street and down to Lena’s.
As Carl was settling into his office, Dr Jonas dropped in on his way to conduct the post-mortem of the body believed to be the mortal remains of Emeritus Bishop Michael Knight.
