Carl read through the post-mortem report for Sharon Wilson.
Dr Jonas had listed an abnormally high level of salmonella in Sharon’s gut, and he’d concluded that the only way that amount of salmonella could have gotten in there was if someone had put it there. He’d described the cause of death as drowning in her own vomit, induced by deliberate salmonella poisoning and aided by a duct tape gag over the victim’s mouth.
That observation, coupled with the fact that she had been trussed up like a sacrificial lamb, clearly suggested to Carl that Sharon had been a victim of foul play.
