Twenty-Two
Shortly after the mid-afternoon update on ABC News 24, the Crime Stoppers hotline received a call from Fred Hart, who managed the Surfers Apartments in Carrick. He’d called to report that the John Cameron named in the Merlin m******e story looked like the man of the same name who had been one of his guests.
When the information came through to Carl in the Incident Room, he called Mr Hart and learnt that John Cameron had not checked out. The manager of the Surfers Apartments told him that Cameron had booked an apartment for ten days but hadn’t been seen for a couple of days. Carl asked him to keep the apartment locked until he arrived.
‘Harry, get your coat. We’re going for a drive.’
It was early evening by the time they arrived in Carrick and located the Surfers Apartments.
