Carl was in the kitchen preparing their evening meal when Wayne dropped Nina home.
Nina gave him a peck on the cheek and collapsed into a chair. Carl poured her a shiraz and returned to his cooking.
‘Harry tells me there was no-one at that warehouse.’
‘Did he show you the photograph?’
‘Not pretty.’
‘I reckon it was taken in the office of that warehouse.’
‘Find anything else?’
Nina kicked off her shoes. ‘The place has been vacant for months. Everything is covered in dust, except for the office area. It looked like someone had cleaned it just before we walked in. It was spotless.’
‘Bit suspicious.’
‘I had Dean Lang look at it, that’s why I’m late.’
‘Did he find anything?’
‘Nothing to indicate a crime.’
