Chapter 3

Living sanctuaries in the state used to be cloudy during harsh winters. The cogent breeze blown on the half day chilled the environment. Harrison Gerret behaviour was awkward for taking deep naps that lasted for long hours. Luckily, the noisy and heavy rain that bashed the floor hit the ceiling and woke him up from his soundless sleep. He boosted and energized his muscles as he walked naked to the bathroom to clean himself up. Reflecting his angle to the wash basin, he looked horrified. He gazed at the rusted mirror as he glared at himself looking so terrific at his sturdy posture. His sudden resemblance to his Dad was visibly passed by heredity. He looked so fashioned as he combed his wavy hair back and forth with his mechanized working comb. Nothing could ever stop him, the father of his beautiful twins, Ketty and Kenny, as he began applying his henna gel (A reddish gel) to suit his blackish-colored hair. Fully prepared to leave his bedroom, he remembered that his late wife used to sleep at the position of his bed he was smoothing and dusting. He dusted his pillowcase, stripping off the stain on the bed. He beckoned his thoughts on the reason why he lost his wife. Mrs Harrison used to accuse him of being a constant complainer because he had taken over his father's business without making any sacrifices by being the CEO of De'Harrison Toys Inc. Company. As a result, he didn't put much effort into running the business effectively and instead delegated management to Mr. Richmond, his assistant, to run the business while he was absent. When Mr. Richmond's first mismanagement attempt failed, his wife bemoaned losing her husband's position of authority and responsibility for effectively running the business. She can assist if he doesn't want to manage the business properly, so he agrees. Mrs. Harrison Lan was a great and successful nurse. She is a very competent and diligent woman. She loved her family, but she loved her work even more. She spent a lot of her time at work, and her husband added to her duties by making it extra. Her seven days a week were extremely busy; she rarely had time for her children and was unaware of the welfare of her beautiful twins. Her only concerns were the success of her career and her husband's career. When she's not busy at work, she documents her husband's files. Garrett will whine, but she always says she can manage it, not realizing she's slowly killing herself. Garrett cried the day she passed out in her office alone following a call from her secretary. Upon arriving at the closest hospital, she gave up and left her family. Garrett has expressed regret and his twins have accused him of killing their mother. Knowing that she was only feigning to manage his company, he loathed himself for having obeyed her. “What got over him? A woman, the head of my house? Is that really how I should have led my home? When I am capable of handling my company, why did I prioritize handling it over my wife? My father will be extremely disappointed in me, I'm sure. He handed over the keys to his business to me to run on my own, independently of anyone else.” “Oh, Garrett! You are such a pitiful fool,” he started sobbing, ranging from his behavior. That is why his mother decided to move in with them. She loved them and looked out for them. The twins became close as they grew older. Upon peeling off the rashes on his nape, he bent his head and passed the threshold while twisting his waist. He saw a hung picture of his late wife sitting by the television shelves. Huge and slender, he stood with his arm outstretched, tugging the picture and rubbing it tightly on his palm. His bright eyes glanced at it for a few seconds before murmuring. “Harrison Ian.” At least 15 years have passed since they lost their mother, making the twins 22 years old. He let out a loud cry. His chest beeped sharply. “ I missed you so much. Please come to me. Please come back to us. We miss you, Mrs. Harrison. I love you, baby, and I want you to stay by my side forever. Please come back to me. I am so sorry for everything.”, he beat his chest and spoke in a wide-ranging manner.
