Chapter 2- Caught.

“I don't understand—” Shocked, Nyssa looked at the man who passed this decree. “Is this a joke, Alpha Duskryn? You're expelling me from The Silvermoon Pack. Why is that even possible?” “You think that I cannot?” The Alpha asked. “Is that what you think? That I cannot expel you from The Silvermoon Pack.” He asked as his laughter reverberated in the hall. “And what makes you think I cannot do something like that, Nyssa?” “Are you really asking me that, my lord?” At this point, Nyssa scanned the hall, hoping someone would come to her defence. This shouldn't even be happening - not for any reason. “It's enough that you've turned me into a slave in my own Father's house, Alpha Duskryn. It's also enough that you swore to be my father's loyal Beta - in health and death, but you didn't do anything like that after his demise. Alpha—” “Enough!” He cut her short, his hands in the air. “You'll not speak until I ask you to.” “And you cannot send me out of my home!” She shouted back at him, shaking. Again, she looked around. Somehow, she expected someone - anyone to come to her aid. Most of these members standing in here with her, swore their loyalty to her father when he still was Alpha - why can't they do something about her situation right now? “This is my home—” She continued when she realized no one could save her. “As a matter of fact, I own this Pack. I own you people - so many of you standing in this hall today. But what did you do in return? Treat me like a piece of s**t - bully me at any opportunity you get, turn me into your maid, and make me wear rags. Even the maids of this pack do not wear rags as I do.” No one said anything. Some of the members wished they could do something about the situation. Some didn't look like they cared. The Alpha and his family watched from a distance - Emilia smiling like she had just won a jackpot. “Your daughter lied. She's the one who slapped me first, twice at that. Why do you keep believing every lie she tells, Alpha Duskryn?” “You heard the witnesses, Nyssa.” “Hell, they weren't even at the scene!” “You shall not raise your voice on your Alpha, child. Don't make me do more than I have done.” What was worse than this? Killing her? Matter of fact, that would be better. What was worse than stripping her off her position for five years? And now, what was worse than kicking her out of a home she grew up in? “You have two nights to make up your mind on where you'll be going, then you may leave this pack.” The Alpha continued his announcement. “My men will kick you out if you're still in The Silvermoon Pack by the third morning, Nyssa. You shouldn't have hit the Princess no matter what.” He snapped his fingers: two men walked closer. “Take the woman out of my sight.” “No.” Nyssa protested. “No, you can't do this.” She got up, finding her way to the throne side where the Alpha sat. But the men grabbed her before she could reach - taking her away. As she sobbed in her room, the doorknob shifted. From the entrance, she could hear someone chuckle. The door opened and now she was certain it was her sworn enemy. “What are you doing here?” Nyssa asked as she wiped her face. “What am I doing here?” Emilia asked. She looked around the room before facing Nyssa. “Did you forget I am a princess in this pack? I have the right to walk in on you while you bathe. That's why I own you and almost everyone in the Pack. Does it make any sense to you now?” The woman shut the door, catching up with the bed corner. “Poor Nyssa, there's no reason for you to cry, mm? Everything will be alright - sooner or later.” Before Nyssa would answer, Emilia spoke. “You know. Although you no longer have a place in this pack, I still wanted you out of it. What to do, I wasn't sure. But I knew I had to do something - something I had never done in five years. Nyssa, I thought about it for a long time, realizing the only way was to trigger you and make you react.” “Wh—what do you mean?” “What do I mean? Is it not very obvious that I made all of these things up? From slapping you to you slapping me back, and then making those maids say they saw you hit me first.” She happily walked back to the door. “I have come to pay you my last respect, although you're very much alive. You won't last two days in the deep forest, you're not strong enough to defend yourself from me - talk less of the wild wolves. You'll be eaten.” “Leave my chamber.” “Or what?” Emilia mocked. “You'll hit me?” “Get out!” Nyssa screamed with her eyes shut. Looking at Emilia can only make things worse, and she wouldn't let the woman push her. The Princess was on her way out when Nyssa recalled. “Emilia?” She called. “There's something I need to tell you, Emilia - something you should know.” And the Princess turned around to look at her. “You'll regret this.” Of all the things Emilia expected to hear, not this. “What?” She laughed, relaxing her back on the door. “Come on, Nyssa. I didn't expect you to say that. You're an Omega wolf, do you always realize that? The lowest of all Omega wolves. How can you make me regret this? I'll beat you in a fight. And let's not forget you have nowhere to go. The wild wolves will have you for breakfast, lunch, or dinner, depending on the time they see you.” Laughter filled the room. Emilia was having a good time. And Nyssa held back from hurting her. She would do more than she did - and she can't take such risks. “Bye, Nyssa.” The door opened and shut before she could speak. There was nothing she had to say, anyway. All she could think about was where she would go. There was no point thinking about it - she knew there was nowhere to go, just as Emilia said. Another thing she was sure of was the wild wolves eating her. They would have her for breakfast, lunch, or dinner. Again, Emilia was right. Instead of leaving the Pack in two nights, just as the Alpha said, Nyssa got ready to leave tonight. What could she take with her? Nothing. Was it the rags? After a long while of thinking, she walked into the bathroom - more than willing to take a bath. Probably the last one in her life. *** By night, she set out of the Pack. Walking through the hallway, Nyssa realized what she would miss. She had missed it for five years, after all, and it didn't matter now. Emilia's words about wild wolves did not stop ringing in her ears as she moved down the stairs. What to do? One way or the other, she was going to die - everyone was going to die. How they died was what mattered. And it's not like she had a choice. The last time she checked, she didn't have one - she hasn't had one since five years ago. As she stepped out of the Pack, the cold breeze hit her. Had she known, she would have brought along more rags so she could cover herself. It was too late to go back inside. And so she continued moving. The direction to go in, Nyssa didn't know. Right or left, she let fate decide before going right - hoping she didn't see things that could be her end. But she didn't care. The wild wolves could have her. After a long time of walking, Nyssa found herself in the deep forest Emilia talked about. Everything she heard about the deep forest was true, except for the wild wolves part. Where were they? Something made a sound and she halted. Nyssa looked around, her brain tingling. “Wild wolves.” She concluded, fear gripping her as she forgot she said she didn't mind getting eaten by them. For once, Nyssa wanted to run - wanted to live - she wanted to try to run and live. The voices were getting closer. If she doesn't do anything about it now, they'll get hold of her. This, she didn't want. In seconds, she picked up a race. At this point, these wolves had seen her. Nyssa ran, and they ran after her. At first, she was winning, getting help from her young, weak wolf who needed safety. But these people, they were stronger than her. They had more strength than she did, even better wolves. And now they won. They caught up with Nyssa. Her wolf failed her, again. And before she could grasp what was happening, someone hit her head. Causing instant unconsciousness.
