Everything was going well between Lewis and me. Kate was so engrossed in her relationship with James that she wasn't noticing anything else. I was about to confront James about how he could do that to Kate after being with me, but then I changed my mind. It was better to let him keep Kate distracted. Besides, he seemed genuinely interested in her, and Kate was happy with him. Lewis was delighted, too, and so was I. As for Carol, I tried to avoid her as much as possible.
