MONEY TALKS AND MAKES THE RULES
Marissa explained to Rob what Julie’s phone call was about, showing him the notes she’d made as she and Julie had talked. More like, as Julie had dictated the rules to Marissa of how the cow ate the cabbage.
Rob was not surprised.
“Actually, I knew this was going to happen. You’ve known me a long time and I never met your sister until last week. But there is something about her that made me feel so uncomfortable, something so insidious that I’ve rarely experienced in my life, that I sensed it was going to come down on you eventually. And, frankly, I was sure it would be sooner than later. The woman is like a cobra; she strikes fast.”
