Later that same evening, Carlton made his way to Ramses’ room. Then they went outside to the private garden. Ramses loved that garden because it contained several Egyptian reliefs and sculptures.
Just as Carlton was about to tell Ramses about his relationship with Priscilla, Ramses looked at him in his eyes and surprised him when he said, “Okay, Son, let’s have it. Why haven’t you brought the young lady home?” By “young lady,” he meant Priscilla.
“Oh, Ramses.”
Shocked that Ramses was one step ahead of him on the subject, Carlton plopped down on the wooden sphinx bench behind him.
Ramses stared down at him, and said, “Wrong way to answer my question.”
