Three Metal Pellets
It was Thursday, around midnight, and Priscilla and the congressman were about to doze off on a sofa in the living room of their brownstone safe house in Harlem when, just before The Late Night Show, the words “CBS News Special Report” flashed across the television screen. Then, a gray-haired, balding man appeared behind a news desk and intoned:
Good evening, this is a CBS News Special Report. I’m Hershel Wendover. CBS News has learned that the U.S. Justice Department is preparing to prosecute four South African Patrol Guardsmen and Ursula Juanita Matheson, a member of the notorious South African female assassins known as ‘the Judges.’
Priscilla heard Wendover’s voice. She rose up and wiggled to the edge of the sofa, and shouted: “What! Not Juanita! Why, she’s—”
