Louis had made a complete psychoanalysis of Kai. Someone with that much power and sway should be monitored closely.
He is the closest representation of an anime protagonist that you could ever find. An overpowered i***t with his own group of girls that are completely in love with him. He was, specifically, an anime protagonist that had reached the conclusion.
Or more accurately, he was like the main character of a video game that had completed all the side quests and was way too strong for the main quest.
It was Louis who had thought about that comparison.
On the other hand, you have us, which are more like side characters that get killed off-screen.
How do I know about screens, videogames, and anime?
I have no clue what you are asking me about.
But I digressed. We, on the other hand, have only been training for a couple of months, and today, finally, we get to go hunting.
Louis was somewhat nervous, but nothing showed in his face or demeanor.
What made him nervous was the lack of information. He knew who Kai was, and the ties between him and his people, but what exactly was his objective?
Why had he saved them? And not just us, but all of these people?
We got ready to fight.
Kai was now at the top of the airplane.
We had traveled quite far this time, until the landscape had changed and turned cold. Every tree we saw was bloodred, and so was the ice. But the snow, for whatever reason, was white.
The contrasting white and red made a beautiful image.
Even more beautiful was the angels we found.
This was the first time we would actually fight against real angels. Before was a simulation made by the first king to warn Hunters of the real threat.
Apparently, these were very common and very safe. They were made by ex-Hunters and could easily be mistaken for real Dungeons.
As the plane got closer to the angels, one of them actually spoke.
It did not open its mouth, yet its voice was heard quite clearly.
Turn back, Hunters and the human. Approaching any further and you all will die.
Res told us that it was time.
We got off from the plane, no parachutes or anything.
As we were landing, Art used her powers and controlled our descent.
Now, we had a clear view of the angels.
One of them was more developed than the other one. We could tell because of their color. The more mature one was silver instead of the usual yellow.
In total, in our group we were fifteen. All of these people were rescued by Kai and had devoted their lives to killing the true enemy of the people, following Kai.
And so, we started to circle around, looking for the less mature angel.
While Kai started to lure the angel that spoke.
The plan was that Kai would take on one of the angels, the stronger one, while all fifteen of us fought the other one.
Louis was not the one who proposed it. When Alexander asked him what he thought about the plan, he thought that, number-wise, it was terrible.
We could have lured one of them, and all of us together kill it, rest, and then fight the other one. That way we can more safely fight.
But maybe Kai wanted to be released from the burden of caring about so many people.
The reality was different. That plan just never occurred to the man.
He was not stupid, but he was not a genius either. And none of the men here was a strategist like Louis, or as smart.
All fifteen of us got ready to fight. Art taking the lead, with Luna at her side.
Our group got together, and we got into our own formation. They had no tactics or anything, they would just fight the monster until it dropped.
Louis wanted to avoid this, because letting others see our formation gave them time to adjust a good counterplay, but he wanted even more for us to live.
The fight was about to start.
But I want to cover Kai’s fight first.
As we must start from there to properly understand the other one.
Kai got ready how he usually does.
He hypes himself up, as he liked to call it.
“BEFORE YOU STANDS THE GREATEST HUNTER THAT HAS EVER EXISTED. THE PINNACLE OF POWER, AND GREATNESS” Kai screamed.
His egos started to play music.
What a curious specimen. What is the need of such a pathetic display?
The reason is simple, really. Some people watch motivational videos to do better. Kai believes that nobody can make you do better than yourself.
You have the ability to do anything you want. You just have to believe it. That is what Kai is doing. He is making himself believe.
“AND BE STRUCK DOWN, BY THE GREATNESS THAT EXISTS WITHIN ME, THE SAME GREATNESS THAT EXISTS WITHIN ALL OF HUMANITY” Kai said.
Kai still called Hunters humans, as he came to Epsilon before the Great Purge.
And nobody would ever dare to correct him. You go and tell the strongest man in the world that he is wrong. See how you like it when he kills your entire family.
If you are a threat, you will be eliminated.
And so, the first fight began.
