CHAPTER FOUR

Leaving my bed room I made my way down the steps of my massive masion, ok why do I need a masion to live in when I am not yet married, the answer is that I love living in a house where I have enough space to move around. My mother do not live with me because she has her own place which she hardly lives in due to her numerous traveling. I built this mansion when I turned twenty three then I moved out of our family house which I was sharing with mum and moved into this masion. Anyways I walked down the steps and made my way to the kitchen to get a drink of water. All my staff have retired for the night, the cook had left my dinner in the micro wave but there was no time for me to eat so I just had some water to drink, grabbed the keys to my porsche which I had kept on the kitchen island then left the house.

I was met outside by Frank my house butler, he must have stepped out briefly for groceries as he had his hands filled up with them, he sometimes helps the cook to do the groceries when she was too busy to do them. Frank has been working for my family for a long time now even before my father died, he has always been treated as a part of our family due to his loyalty and dedication to us. And when I moved here he came along with me but anytime my mum is around he goes back to our family house to assist her. Anyways she is never around.

I am going out, I don't know when I will be back, no need waiting up for me, I will let myself in with the spare key I say to him. Stay safe sir he replied giving me a nod. I hummed then smiled at him before heading towards my porsche. My car has already been brought out from the garrage by Lyon before he retired for the night so it was easier for me to just drive it, I would be driving myself tonight so I drove to my favourite bar where Ethan and I liked to hang out when ever we had the opportunity to. The bar is owned by Ethan's cousin from his maternal side. Its been ages since I went there to hang out.

On one side I am kinda glad that I am getting to relax a bit but the workaholic in me is screaming to just call Ethan and cancel the whole thing but I can't do this to him. I already promised him that we will be hanging out tonight and I hate breaking any of my promises.

Thirty minutes later, I got to my destination, I was already late by twenty minutes. Anyways I have already told him that I will be coming in late so he can understand. I drove towards the parking lot to find space to park my car in the already filled up parking lot but luckily enough I got space to park my porsche .That's one thing about this place it doesn't matter what day of the week it is because the place is always flooding with customers. Its such a cool place. I turned off my car enigine and then stepped out of the car. I walked to the bar entrance, the securities there greeted me as they saw me and I nodded at them. I made my way inside, I already know where Ethan will be sitting because it is usually where we normally sit each time we come to this place. I head towards the V.I.P and saw Ethan sitting comfortably nursing a few drinks. Hey, I say smiling widely at him. Woah .. Look who we have here he said standing up and giving me a bro hug as we pat each others back . Whatsup man he said sitting down along with me as I sat across him. Just doing good I replied. I thought you were not going to show up any more, I thought you stood me up he said laughing. Don't be so over drammatic, I already told you that I will show up but I will come in late I say shaking my head at his childish behaviour. A waiter approached us and asked us what we would like to order, I don't really feel like drinking much alcohol tonight because I will be going to work tomorrow morning and its not even the weekend yet, I don't want to wake up with a hang over tommorrow morning. I ordered for a champagne while Ethan requested for another bottle of red wine, he was almost done with the first bottle. Some few minutes later the waiter arrived with our order.

How was your trip? I asked him while pouring in my drink in a glass cup and then taking the first sip of my drink.

It was okay, I sealed the deal he said smirking. Wow thats great no wonder you invited me out I say chuckling. Common man, its been ages since we both hung out so lets just say I have two reasons for inviting you out today he said laughing.I knew it I say pretending to frown. But really man its been months already, he said pouring himself more drinks. I sighed, yeah it is, after a week's rest I met a mountain load of work on my desk this morning I say sipping my drinks. Hmmm I see , haven't you gotten a P.A yet, I thought you fired the last person he said chuckling. yeah, my secretary will let them know when to come in for their interview, so hopefully by Monday the person should resume work I replied.

I had fired my last P.A before I went for vacation after she thought she will try to seduce me. I mean, how do some women think, that they can combine both work and pleasure at my place of work. I am a very disciplined person and I don't date my subordinates , I know my boundaries, its like degrading oneself and when my last P.A made a move on me I got her fired immediatley, she was not that competent to begin with. I have fired others before her so her case was not new to me. I made sure to let them know that I am not that type of person who takes advantage of his workers for his own selfish reasons. I take my affairs outside of my office environment and not the other way round.

so tell me whats the latest news? Ethan asked me. I am sure he was not asking me about my work because he knows I am doing well in that area, his question was about my latest affair and with what woman. I laughed at his questions. I haven't gotten laid for a while now I say smirking at him.

Turning celibate now are we? he asked Laughing . you wish I replied. We continued to talk about random stuffs for a while as we tried to catch up on each others life. I had almost finshed my drinks when I suddenly felt pressed. I want to use the rest room I say standing up and gulping down the rest of my drink. Alright man, he said picking up his phone maybe to chat or make a call. I walked towards the rest rooms as I avoided colliding with waiters carrying drinks on tray or hurrying to get customers orders. I finally made it to the rest room as I went inside the one for male customers and did my business, after which i washed my hands in the sink then splashed some water on my face, after drying my hands I went outside the rest room. I suddenly needed a breather so I took the corner that led to the exit door of the bar which I have used several times whenever I felt kinda suffocatted inside the bar. I walked to the door then pulled the door open walking outside.

The fresh air blew on my face as I sighed in relief. I smoothened my hair back wards as I breath in the fresh air. I looked at my time and it was already getting late, I need to go home and rest for work tommorow. I sighed and turned back to go inside when I heard it, at first I thought it was the wind because it suddenly felt chilly or maybe my mind was playing tricks on me because it sounded as if I heard someone screaming. I paused for a while but I dididn't hear anything again. I heaved a sigh and turned again to go inside but this time I am sure that someone was screaming so I decided to find out what was going on as I walked carefully through the dark alley making sure to make no noise. If someone was in trouble then I would not want to give myself away till I have seen the situation of things first before handling whatever it is. As I made my way through the alley my eye sight adjusted to the darkness and I could make my way through without any difficulty, then I heard a voice yelling at someone to let them go, I walked faster then I saw the figure of a man lying on top of a woman while pinning her hands above her head. I immediately deduced what was going on, this is a case of assault and probably the man was about to rape the woman. I quickly acted fast by yelling at the man to get off the woman. The fucker quickly turned around and looked at me and its a wonder that he did not snap his f*****g neck. When he saw me instead of getting off the woman he asked me to f**k off and to mind my own business. Is he f*****g serious right now, I felt a wave of rage overcome me as I brutally pulled the fucker away from the woman, he fell to the ground, then quickly got up and dashed towards me throwing a punch at me, he missed as I evaded his punch and then landed one of mine on his disgusting face making him fall backwards and slump to the ground. The bastard thought that he could take me out with a punch, he is so pathethic.

I turned to the woman who was still lying down on the ground and ask if she was okay but I guess after what happenend to her she was too shocked to reply. Who could blame her, the incident must have left her paralized with fear. I offered my hands to help her get up but she flinched and didn't take my hand, I assured her that I will not hurt her and that made her take the hand I offered to her and pulled herself off the ground. She quickly stepped away from me. I noticed she was hugging herself and shivering so I acted like a gentleman and offered my jacket to her. I know how bad most women can be but no woman deserves to be treated the way this jerk just treated this lady, if a man wanna have s*x with a woman it should be a mutual agreement and not for the man to forcefully take it from the woman. Every woman has the right to decide who she wants to sleep with. Creeps like this are the kind of people who gives us men a bad name and I will not let him get away with it. I did the right thing by deciding to call the police, at first the lady was uncomfortable with the idea but I explained it to her how important it is for me to get the police involved. I wondered why she did not want to involve the police,, anyways I am going to do the right thing right now. She could be any body's sister and if I had a sisiter I will not sit back and do nothing if someone tried to take advantage of her. After calling the police I also called Ethan to come over to the alley. When he arrived I asked him to keep guard over the bastard.

I asked the lady to come with me to the parking lot so we could wait for the police to arrive she agreed and walked behind me. As we made our way towards the parking lot I wondered what the woman was doing in that alley before the incident, could she be what I was thinking of? well she looked Young and innocent from the little I saw of her because the light in the alley was poor. Anyways I have learnt not to judge a book by its cover, the innocent looking ones are sometimes the worst of them all. Well, I dont care all I know is that I have done the right thing by helping her out tonight, what she does with her life is not any of my concern , I must have let my mind wonder away because the next thing she was holding my hand and requesting me to give her my phone to make a call. I entered my phone password and then handed my phone over to her she quickly took the phone and dialled a number, I folded my hand and stared at her trying to look at her properly , well lets say that when I was saving her I was only focused on trying to get the jerk off her and then also trying to get the police involved and helping her out, I did not focus too much on her face nor appearnace but from what I could see of her right now make me wonder why someone would want to hurt a person like her.. I have seen and been with alot of women in my life but this woman right here is out of this world, despite her disheaveled state I don't think any of the women I have been with could match her beauty. I stared at her all the while she was making her call and wondered who she was talking to because she looked like she was about to cry, the person over the phone must be worried about her because for some seconds she only listened and didnt say anything, she then told the person that she would explain everything and should meet her at the parking lot. I forgot to turn away after the call ended for she turned and gave me a confused look when she saw how intently I was staring at her.

she thanked me and handed the phone over to me, I hummed and continued on my way to the parking lot. I refused to take the risk of staring at her again and getting caught so I just walked and looked ahead. When we got to the parking lot there was enough light there so I decided to tell her we should wait by my car but I felt her gaze on me then I turned quickly and as I suspected she was staring at me and when I tunerd she quickly averted her gaze blushing. was she already attracted to me? if not why was she staring at me and then blushing. Anyways I will be surprised if she wasn't attracted to me. I mean its very hard for any woman to resist my charm. She beat me to it by telling me that we should wait over by her car. she made her way towards an expensive brand new looking Tesla and I wondered how she could afford to buy such a car, only wealthy people can afford such a car. or maybe some one bought it for her because even if she was working she would have to save alot in order to acquire such a ride. Any ways why should I care. Women can do anything these days to live a luxurious life. I ignored her and started going through my phone. The police should be here any moment from now. Suddenly we both heard the siren of the police car as it was heading towards the bar and at the same time I saw her trying to alert a guy who was looking around the parking lot, he must be the person she had called earlier, the guy saw her and then quickly made his way towards her and when he got to her he enguffed her in his arms. He looked worried and his hair was wild as if he had been running his fingers through it, I folded my hands over my chest and watched them closely, maybe he was her boyfreind because the way he was holding her in his arms and looking all over her body no doubt these two have something going. She asked him to breathe as the guy was babbling alot, asking her alot of questions. Funny guy, if the lady was actually his girlfriend how come he left her on her own to the extent that she was assaulted and almost raped if I hadn't come there at the right time to save her, didn't he at least care to look for her when she did not return. Anyways that's their problem, from the look of things they seam to care about each other its not my business. The lady turned and looked at me with her mesmerizing green eyes that seams to melt my inside and bring warmth to my heart but my face was expressionless as I stared blankly at them. The guy must have noticed me as he glared at me clenching his fist and asking her whom I was and if I was the one that hurt her. It kinda amused me, how dumb can this guy be. I mean he is good looking and all but how can he ask her such a stupid question when the lady was not looking as if she was under any physical harrasement from me. Anyways he looks funny glaring at me thinking he could intimidate me like that. The lady quickly told him that I was the one that saved her. I decided to ignore them and walk towards the police vehicle that was about parking in front of the bar entrance. I walked over to them and introduced myself, offcourse they recognised me when I told them my name. I told them that I was the one who made the call about a woman being assaulted. the lady and her boyfriend joined us and I told the officers that she was the victim. One of the officers introduced themselves to her and asked her if she could come over to the police station and make her statement, she hesitated with the excuse that she was tired and shaken from what happened to her. I wondederd why she is hesitating to do the right thing, maybe she has her reasons. Anyways, she later agreed to go to the police station the next day to give her statement. She smiled at her boyfriend whose face looked very worried.

She must be a tough person still smiling right now despite her ordeal tonight because any woman in her place would be freaking out by now but she could still smile at her boyfriend she must love him so much. I stared at them as she gently rubbed his arms as if he was the victim and not her, she turned towards me and saw me watching them , I turned away quickly and led the officers away when they asked where the culprit was. One of the officers asked her to wait behind as we made our way towards the alley. I didnt know why I was staring at the lady with her boyfriend, I mean why should I care about her relationship with the guy, I only helped her so why am I suddenly feeling angry when I saw how she was acting with him. I also felt angry with myself for feeling that way, I certainly do not have the right to feel like that towards her. I know she looks like aphorite herself with her long blond hair, beautiful figure and mesmerizing eyes but that is not enough reasons for me to feel like she belonged to me when I saw how attentive she was towards that guy. I sighed quietly, I need to get laid fast, perhaps abstaining from s*x for a while is starting to take its toll on me. I can't even remember the last time I felt attracted towards any woman. Sure thing I do admire the pretty ones and only see them as nice f**k but getting all warm inside and acting like they were mine, thats not my style at all, so I made a mental promise to have s*x this week before my mind starts to play tricks on me.

we reached the place where the bastard was still lying on the ground and Ethan was leaning on the wall pressing his phone while waiting for us, I had already texted him that I was on my way with some officers. I had also told the officers that my friend was guarding the jerk because I had to knock him out. So Ethan wasn't surprised when he saw who I was with. As we got to the place the bastard was beginning to stir , he opened his eyes and then sat up quickly while looking wilding around him, when he saw the officers he opened his eyes wide and looked confused before he scrunched up his face. the officers approached him and slapped the handcuff to his wrist as he tried to struggle . Officers I didnt do anything I swear, that guy over there knocked me out, he is the one that you should be arresting and not me. Oh, the fucker even recognized me, I scoffed when I heard what he said. Hold your horses and remain silent for anything you say or do will be used against you one of the officers said dragging the bastard away. The other Officer whom I guess is called officer Brian shake my hand and commemended my effort in alerting the police. I smiled as we all made our way towards the police vehicle, I was about going to meet the lady one last time when I saw her in a tight embrace with her boyfriend I clenched my teeth tightly and fisted my hands , I saw Ethan by my side giving me a strange look when he saw my face, he followed the direction of my eyes and smirked when I turned to look at him. I then told officer Brian that I would just leave as I have something important to do. we shook hands once again and I left with Ethan walking behind me . I can't understand why I am acting like this, I seriously need a brain check, why the f**k am I acting like someone took what belongs to me . I have not felt like thing for a very long time, thankfuly Ethan did not ask me anything till I got to my car. I sighed and turned to him. Just say it, I said. He sighed and folded his hands over his chest, first of all what the hell happened over there ? he asked . What happened

over where precisely? I asked him back , I only wanted to be sure about what he was asking me, if it was about the jerk I had asked him to watch over or about the look he caught me giving to the girl and her boyfriend. He sighed , first things first what happened tonight? and who is that lady to you? he asked, he was smirking at me, and I wondered what was going through his mind.

I leaned on my porche, crossing my ankles and with my both hands inside my pockets I recounted the incidents that happened tonight, excluding the facts that I was admiring the lady that I saved tonight. After recounting the whole incident to him, he was silent for a while before he sighed, its a good thing that you were there on time if not who knows what would have happened to her. Some men can be jerks at times he said scratching his neck. But why do you look bothered , I mean the police are handling the whole thing right, Why do you then look like you are about to murder somebody especially when you saw those two hugging each other he asked looking at me with confusion. I gave a dry laugh, you must be seeing things Ethan, after the s**t that went down tonight I feel tired and I also need to rest, work today has been very hectic I said still laughing. Hmmm... He hummed looking skeptically at me. I gotta run now man, lets talk later I said slapping him lightly on the arm. He nodded as he waved me off , he still had his arms folded while looking at me. I ignored him and made my way to the drivers side of my car I got in and started my car, then Ethan tapped on my car window I whined down the window and he leaned a bit down to talk to me, do you have plans this sunday? he asked. I do, infact I have plans, the mayor invited me to his house, he said something about throwing a house party and guess who just came back I asked him waiting for Ethan to respond but he looked at me confused then he suddenly smiled as if a bulb has light up in his brain. Is it what I am thinking he asked smiling widely. I wouldn't know what you are thinking if you don't tell me I said smirking. Offourse, I am talking about 'Catherine' he replied. I nodded, he told me she came back and he would want us to meet, I guess he is playing match maker again I said laughing. well, I guess you have to play along right? you are an adult ,you know what you want man, you can't just go straight up and tell her that you dont like her when you see her.. Well I will just wait until Sunday and see things for myself who knows I might fall in love with her I said grinning. Ethan huffed , since when do you fall in love he asked me laughing. I pouted which made him laugh harder. Anyways see you soon man, he said stepping away from my car. Take care man I replied whining up my car window and then driving away. Looking through my rear view mirror I saw Ethan making his way towards the bar entrance. I thought he was leaving, but how come he is going back inside the bar. Whatever I sighed speeding up my car.

I got home less than thirty minutes due to the level of speed that I was driving. Fortunately I was not pulled over by any cop. I don't usually drive like this, I always try to maintain my speed limit but tonight I felt like flying to my home. I was restless and I dont know what is wrong with me. The last time I felt this way was ages ago but for the past ten years when I thought that I had hardened my cold heart I felt warmth again and it was caused by that lady I met tonight, she had ignited the feelings that I hought I had already lost. Thankfuly I will never see her again. It's a good thing that I left when I did, what did I even want to tell her when I decided to go back and meet her. I am so angry at myself as I made my way inside the house using my spare key. I walked slowly as I walked in the direction of the kitchen. I took a bottled water from the refrigerator and gulped it down directly from the bottle, after emptying it I threw the bottle inside the trash bin and then made my way out of the kitchen. I climbed up the stairs and then entered my bedroom then reached out to take off my jacket before I remember giving it to the lady when she was cold. Just perfect I say. I removed my cloths, throwing them inside the hamper I went to take my bath, some few minutes later I walked out from the bathroom after drying myself and changed into my pajamas. I checked my phone and it was almost midnight, sighing, I placed my phone on top of my side drawer then laid down to sleep. I tried to focus on sleeping clearing all my mind from a certain green eyed lady. I didn't want to think about her again tonight. I have no right to think about her because she wasn't mine to begin with. Hopefully by tomorrow I will forget all about her as if nothing happened. I know that she is very beautiful and many men will give anything just to have her but I am certainly not one of those men. I admired her, thats all it will be, I am not supposed to loose my mind or sleep over her. I made a mental note to f**k a woman this weekend may be that way I will begin to reason well and not think about someone else's girlfriend.Slowly I began to feel drowsy as sleep gradually overcame me and I dozed off.
