CHAPTER TWENTY

I felt my body bubbling with excitement as I looked at the time for the umpteenth time. I had come back from hanging out with Ryan about an hour ago cause I had promised to have lunch with him today, well let's just say the lunch we had together kinda pacified him a bit considering he had been angry the previous day about my relationship with Donovan when he showed me those tabloids. Well, we just had lunch together and tried to catch up with each others life and thankfully he never mentioned anything regarding Donovan and I was thankful for that.

He and I have been arguing alot these days and I didn't want anything to further strain our already strained relationship. After lunch he had a call and he left to meet up with someone and I took that opportunity to go home to prepare for my date with Donovan later in the evening.

This morning Donovan had sent me bunches of both red and white roses that smelt heavenly and he had written something romantic on the little card. The gesture was so sweet and when I got back from having lunch with Ryan I had called him to confirm about where he was going to take me so I can dress for the occasion, I wouldn't want to be over dressed or under dressed, I really wanted to impress him alot tonight and I sure would.

Donovan had said I should dress casual, cause due to its summer he wouldn't want to take me to an overly crowded place and he gave me tips as to where we will be going to. Dress casual, cause we will be going to a place where there are lots of sand and when I asked him to explain further he chuckled and asked me to use my imaginations, tch.. he is so mean. But after the call I quickly knew what he meant by lots of sand, where else if not the beach and I loved going to the beach, I went to the beach alot when I was in college. Ryan and I always made out time during the weekends to go visit the beach, lodging in a beach hotel and having plenty of fun.

Those where days when I lived a very carefree lifestyle and had alot of happy moments with Ryan and some of our college friends. Who would have thought that I will be having my first serious date in a beach. I mean beaches are commonly considered a great dating spot because of the romantic vibes they give. The beauty of the sun in the horison, the ocean waves that gently brushes across your feet, the wind blowing your hair and face all these makes dates on the beach even more special. And what baffels me the more is how Donovan was able to deduce that I loved the beach alot, and I also loved watching the sunset at the beach. He never ceases to amaze me and I find myself falling even more for him.

I had less than an hour to get ready before Donovan comes to pick me up for our date and I chose my outfit for the evening. I opted to wear a cute pink off- the- shoulder dress with some fancy flat pink sandals to complement my looks, in case we had to do alot of walking around on the beach. I also brought out my beach hat and a bucket bag. The dress accentuated my smooth flawless shoulders, collar bone and the length of my legs. I would have brought along my swim suit if we had the date in the afternoon but I guess that is going to be till next time. I also wore a bright coloured scarf around my neck, and carried along a denim jacket incase it becomes too breezy later in the night.

I wore light makeup as usual and on my lips I applied a pink lipstick and added some gloss to make it shimmer beautifully, and my hair was in a beautiful bun with some lose strands by the side of my face. I looked at my refection in the mirror and was very much satisfied with my looks, I smiled at my reflection. I would date myself if I can cause this beauty looking at me in the mirror is definately gorgeous, I giggled imagining Donovan's facial reaction when he sees my cute outfit, I hope he likes it.

Taking one last look at myself I gathered my stuff and left my bedroom and went to the living room. I placed my bag and jacket on the couch and went to the kitchen to have a drink of water cause Donovan will arrive at anytime now and as if on cue my door bell rang when I was about to replace the glass cup after rinsing it. I smiled and quickly made my way towards the door opening it with my face beaming with smiles and there he was in all his handsomeness wearing a simple outfit that made him look sexy as well as very handsome in it.

Donovan is wearing a striped shirt with denim shorts and a pair of loafers. He had a new hair cut in a different style but the shade of his hair was still silver. His new hair cut made him look more hot combined with his outfit he looked drop dead gorgeous making me smile inside and desire him more. I had gotten carried away by checking him out without uttering any word.

Do you like what you see? he asked smirking making me come out of my reverie, I blushed knowing that I had been caught checking him out, the guy was just too handsome for his own good and no wonder women were so attracted to him like moths to a flame but who would blame them. She herself is not left out from those admiring his great looks and charisma.

When you are done checking me out, this is for you my queen he said making me look at his hands for the first time since he arrived cause I had been too busy looking at his face than what he was carrying with him. He was holding another bunch of roses and box of chocolates making me smile widely. You have already sent me flowers baby I said taking the items from him, they are so pretty thank you I said inhaling the scent of the red roses. Am glad you like them he said smiling at me.

I don't like them but I love them babe, you are so sweet I replied. Let me put these away while I grab my stuff and thanks also for the chocolates. He leaned forward and pecked my lips before letting me go to put the flowers away. I found a glass flower vase and placed the flowers inside and placed them on my dinning table, then I quickly grabbed my stuff.

I met him standing in my living room area waiting for me and when I approached him he gently grabbed my waist and kissed my forehead.

You look so stunning baby and you take my breath away. I giggled, you look very nice too I say blushing and looking up to him. He inhaled my neck hmmm... so sweet he muttered quietly but I heard him say it, then kissed me there leaving small pecks along my neck and shoulders making me moan quietly, squirming at the tickling sensations that I was feeling from his kisses. He really knows my weak spot which I had found out I had thanks to him and all those kisses he used to give me on the neck. Then he released me slowly, let's not get carried away babe we still have our date to go to, we can always do this later he said winking at me making me laugh. Then he kissed my nose, let's go baby he said and then held my hand in his large ones and we made our way out of the house.

I was bobbing my head to the sound of the music playing inside the car as Donovan laughed quitely at my actions, then when the music switched to the ones we both knew the lyrics we sang along making us both laugh at the end of it. It was like close to an hour before we arrived at our destination and I could smell it in the air that sweet scent of the beach, the sound of the waves and the wind. It was already dark when we arrived and as Donovan parked the car he told me not to open the door yet and then he came around to open the door for me making me giggle, my lady, he said offering me his hand, as I held his hand he helped me out of his sleek car. Then he went to turn off the car engine and walked up to me pecking me lightly on the side of my mouth while smiling warmly at me.

Are you ready my princess? he asked me, I nodded, I have been ready all my life I responded winking at him, then let's go he said. One moment I say as I took my jacket leaving my bag behind in the car, afterwhich he locked the car and we walked towards the beach. My mind was anxious to know what he had planned for us tonight and I didn't want to spoil it by asking him cause I wanted it to come as a surprise to me. It was enought that he already gave me a clue that we were going to the beach so I will just go with the flow tonight cause tonight have to be perfect for the both of us, away from all the troubles of the week if you know what I mean, the stories making waves about Donovan and Catherine. Nothing should spoil this evening for us and I was determined to enjoy myself tonight I deserved it at least.

The view that caught my eyes made me hold my breath for a while, it was so beautiful and mesmerizing. At first I had wondered where the sound of the music was coming from until I saw the pianist playing his piano, he was playing a soft and romantic music and the violinist was playing also as both of them were in sync with each other as the air was filled with their sweet music along with the sound of the waves.

Oh my god I said under my breath as I took in the beautifully decorated table for two, adorned with elegant linens, flickering candles, delicate floral arrangements and a tempting spread of culinary delights to it's romantic settings. The dining area was decorated with vibrant flowers and colourful lanterns, infact the place was decorated with lights that brightened the whole place.

At the side was a chef on stand by with two of his staff who will be serving our dinner tonight. This is perfect I say with tears in my eyes, I looked at Donovan who was still smiling at me. I am glad you liked it he said kissing my head. As we approached the chef and his staff bowed politely in greetings to us, I smiled at them giving them a small wave cause I was too caught up at the moment to know how to reply to their greetings.

Donovan guided me to my seat and held the chair back for me to sit, after sitting he went to sit on the other seat facing me as we both smiled at each other, this view is perfect I say as I felt the wind caress my face. Tell me how did you know I loved the beach? I asked making him laugh slightly.

Well I took a guess and I was right he said laughing at my quizzical look, come on babe you don't have to be surprise okay, you are very easy to please and you look like the beach kind of girl he said. I laughed, easy to please huh! I say wait until I become a nagging girlfriend, he smiled widely at me, and I will be glad to attend to all of your needs, I won't mind you nagging me cause I am already smitten by you he said laughing as one of the chef aid brought us a bottle of champagne in an ice bucket and wine glasses, we thanked him and bowing slighlty he left us.

Donovan poured us both a glass of wine and then raised a toast, to a long and happy relationship filled with love and laughter he said, cheers we both said clicking our glasses lightly together, I took my first sip as the flavour burst in my taste bud making me moan, so nice I say. I looked up as Donovan was staring quietly at me, what? I say smiling.

You are so beautiful he said and when you moan like that it makes me feel things that I have never felt for anyone before. You are such a sweet talker I said shyly. He placed his hands on mine that was resting on the table. I mean every word I say to you baby, I like you alot, No I think I am inlove with you he said shocking me, I looked up at him, I have never felt so strongly for anyone the way I feel for you not even for my first girlfriend, whenever I am with you I feel complete and I forget everything, my fear, the world itself cause only you matter to me.

Do you really mean that? I asked in a small voice. I mean it baby, I swear upon my honour that I want you like I have never wanted anyone before, you complete me. I know that we both still have alot that we have to learn about each other but I feel like we have known ourselves for a very long time. I smiled blushing.

So Stacey Price will you do me the honour of becoming my girlfriend he asked making me blush more as I looked intently at him. I nodded, I would love to be your woman I say. I love the sound of that he replied, leaning forward as our lips met in a sweet kiss, then we stopped kissing to catch our breath. You are officially mine now he said and I nodded and you are mine too I responded. Forever and always he replied intertwining our fingers together on the table.

He suddenly stood up and came towards me extending his hand making me look up at him expectantly. Would you like to dance with me my lady? he asked with a grin on his face, I nodded blushing then I held his hand as we both went to have our first dance for the evening. Donovan held me gently around my waist and my hands were wrapped lightly behind his neck as we both danced slowly to the sound of the soft and romantic music playing in the background.

He held one of my hands and then spin me around making me squeak out while laughing, then he pulled me towards him again and I placed my head on his broad chest as he held me lovingly to himself. We were dancing slowly, sometimes swaying from side to side to the sweet melodies of the music as we danced under the moonlit sky.

would you like us to eat now angel? he spoke quietly to me as I was still enjoying the warmth of his body but I was already getting hungry so I agreed for us to eat. I pulled away from him with a smile then Donovan kissed my forehead and led me back to my seat.

When we sat down as if on cue the chef and his staff served us the main course for the evening which was neatly arranged on the table, the aroma made me salivate and I inhaled deeply closing my eyes and when I opened them Donovan was laughing lightly at me making his handsome face even more handsome. His eyes were filled with mirth making me remember when he never used to smile and always went around with that stoic face, it was so good to see him smile and laugh like this with me.

I had asked the chef to make varieties of food, I even asked him to add some Asian delicacies to spice up the evening he said smiling making me laugh. I wanted for you to have a taste of everything cause I don't really know your preferences when it comes to food. You did well babe, how thoughtful I said giving him a sweet smile which he reciprocated.

I looked at the food neatly laid out on the table, we were served with grilled marinated steaks, grilled meats, sushi rolls, some stir fried delicacies, various vegetables they also served us some fresh seafood like oyesters and lobsters, shrimps, tropical exoctic fuits and cocktails. Infact there was so much food that I didn't know where to begin from. This made Donovan chuckle seeing my hesitation as I stared at all the food with wide eyes. I pouted when he laughed, there are so much food babe we can't eat all these food I say.

I know babe I wanted you to have a taste of all the varieties of food, just eat as much as you can he said. Are you trying to over feed me tonight I said teasing him. Maybe that's my plan, so that I will have to carry you in my arms when you can't walk to the car he said smirking.

Pervert I say, you just need an excuse to get your hands on me. You are mine now babe so I don't need an excuse to touch you, I will just take what I want he replied winking at me. I rolled my eyes smiling.

Let's dig in babe before the food gets cold. We both dug in and the food was so delicious that I wanted to have a bite of all the dishes. I felt the salty freshness of the seafood as it tantalized my taste bud, it was just perfect. All the dishes were so delicious and when the dishes were taken away after we both had our fill, the chef served us desert which was a fondue with melted chocolate surrounded with fresh fruits, and other dippable treats.

We both dipped strawberries into the velvety chocolate and fed each other which I felt was very romantic. I dipped a strawberry inside the chocolate then smear a little of it at the side of Donovans lips making him widden his eyes in amusement, then I asked him to hold on cause I would want to wipe it off myself he looked at me in confusion then smiled when I stood up and went to him them leaned towards him and licked the chocolate off the side of his lips. Hmmm... taste even better I say pecking his nose, as I made to move away he held my waist lightly and we both stared at each other and I could see the hunger in his eyes as his eyes was dazed with want for me.

That was so hot baby he whispered hoarsely, I would like to smear your whole body with this chocolate then lick you up with my tongue. I swallowed and blushed when I heard what he said. I would love that I whispered back but that will be some other day. He said nothing then he leaned closer to me and claimed my lips in a passionate kiss making my toes curl.

After our romantic and passionate kiss Donovan and I decided to take a stroll along the beach while holding hands enjoying the soothing sounds of the waves. We both swung our hands together like kids making me giggle. I really had a nice time tonight, Thank you for making this day perfect for us I say turning to look at him, he smiled staring at me, It was a pleasure baby and I am happy that I got to do this with you today, this is like the first time I have really enjoyed myself he replied.

You haven't done this for anyone before? I asked, making him shake his head. I have never gone out of my way to please a woman in a date he replied. We can only eat in expensive places and that's it, nothing romantic attached to it cause I never felt the need to do all that considering I don't have feeelings for any of them but with you it is different baby cause I love you he said cupping my face and looking deep into my eyes.

You make me feel things that I have never felt before, I have opened up my heart to you and I never wish to hide anything from you, so always keep that in mind that you are very important to me and I will do my best to keep you happy. I smiled with tears in my eyes nodding at what he said.

What you just said really mean alot to me babe I say caressing his hands that were cupping my face and thank you for being a part of my life. He kissed me again under the night sky twinkling above us and creating an unforgettable evening filled with love and wonderful memories that will last a life time.

We continued our stroll when I suddenly thought of something that I remembered was very important I told Donovan. I want to tell you something about me before you find out yourself in the future I say. He turned to look at me scrunching his brows, what is it babe? he asked.

Well let's just say that I haven't been completely honest with you, he stopped walking making me stop walking as well as we both faced each other, then he intertwined our fingers together. Tell me baby what is it?, whatever it is I am ready to hear you out. I sighed then stared intently at him. I am the last daughter of William Price I say waiting for his reaction. His eyes widened after he heard what I said. But how's that even possible? he asked, I have known mr. Price children for a very long time now and never had it been known that he has another daughter aside from his two daughters, are you saying that you are also his daughter, like biological daughter?

Yes, I replied laughing, people don't know about this cause for some reasons my birth was kept a secret from the public. Well my mum had me in her forties and she gave birth to me in another country. I have practically lived all my life outside this country and with my maternal grand parents whom I had grown up with. I only attended college in this city. That's why people don't know of my existence cause no body ever mentioned it out to the public. My few relatives who knew about my birth have never laid eyes on me so you see, no one but us know I am part of the Price family.

Donovan chuckled, Oh my gush! I suspected it you know, cause your family have such a unique name and I don't know anyone by that surname in this city, so you having that surname had set my mind in a state of confusion cause I was trying to figure out who you really are and if you were in anyway related to them, but so far there were not much details about you except for the years you spent in college.

I laughed, but why did you have to go this far just to know someone?. Well you gave me no choice babe, you were reluctant to talk about yourself so I assumed that you were hidding something and also you lived such a luxurious lifestyle, come on babe how many ladies out there have the kind of stuff you have considering you have never worked before.

He rubbed his neck looking away from me making me suspicious. Look at me babe I say turning his face back to me, where did you think I got the money to live such a life style? I asked him.

Well.... he said nervously, don't blame me okay, you are just so pretty so I thought either Ryan funded your bills, well I thought you two were dating, I also thought you were from a wealthy home he replied.

And... what else did you think about me? I asked raising my brow. I thought that perhaps you were some rich dude sugar baby. What! I almost yelled when I heard the last part, how could you think that of me?

I am sorry okay, I didn't know you well at that time and you know I had trust issues when it comes to women and I thought you were like those other ladies who could do anything to get what they wanted in life and I was wrong, please forgive the horrible perception that I had about you.

I sighed, every woman is not the same babe, he held my hands I am sorry baby. And when did you stop having such thoughts about me? I asked. Well with time I forgot all about it and focused on my feelings for you, every other thing did not matter to me anymore as long as I had you in my life.

I smiled, they will find out about us you know? I mean my parents, and I hope when that day comes they will approve of us being together I say sighing. I don't wanna loose you babe.

Likewise, he replied pecking my nose. I am not a bad person, I only made wrong choices which I am not proud of and I hope that some day your family will look pass my flaws and accept me as your man he replied. I nodded they will and if they don't then we have to convince them I say giggling.

We won't have to elope together he said looking serious then burst out laughing when I made a face at him. We embraced each other and then continued with our stroll whilst holding hands together, there was a comfortable silence between us as we both enjoyed each others company while listening to the sounds of the waves. Deep down in our hearts we both know that this marks the beginning of our romantic journey of our love story and I hoped that there won't be any huddles for us in the future and if there was then I am ready to face it all head on. I resolved in my heart that I will do anything to make this relationship work no matter what and if it flops in the future I will know that at least I tried my best.

It was almost mid-night when Donovan brought me back home after so much fun that we had together and when he left me in front of my door he kissed me passionately and promised to call me in the morning.

I checked my phone and realised that I had several missed calls from Ryan and my mother. I had earlier left my phone inside the car to avoid any form of distractions and I am sure that Donovan did the same because not even once did I hear his phone ring while we were together so I deduced that perhaps he had also left his phone behind or switched his phone off. I opened my door and was surprised to see the light already on inside the house and there was someone moving around the kitchen, I walked carefully and cautiously towards the kitchen and when I looked inside I was surprised to see Ryan there sitting by the kitchen island while looking through his phone with a glass of water by his side. I was surprised to see him in my house at that time of the night.

Hey.... I say startling him, he looked at me with wide eyes before standing up, where were you babe? you got me all scared and worried when I called and you didn't pick up he said, I thought something happend. I came here after you did not pick up and I saw that you had left your cars behind but there was no trace of you at home.

Chill Ry, I say laughing, I am fine as you can see. Well thank God I..... he didn't complete what he was about to say as he paused and took in my dressing then he frowned. Why are you dressed like you went to the beach he asked suspiciously. I chuckled you are right I went to the beach.

You went to the beach without me? he asked still frowning and besides you never told me this that you were going there today. How come you went without saying anything to me and so late at night?.

I am sorry I didn't tell you earlier today but it was a date with my boyfriend I didn't want to upset you hence I didn't mention it I replied drinking his water. He didn't say anything but I could tell that he was angry. He sighed, so how was it? he asked.

What? I asked him. The date offcourse what else he retorted. I giggled it was perfect Ry I had fun. When he didn't reply I quickly changed the topic. So why were you calling me incessantly? I asked.

Well my house got flooded mistakenly.
