Chapter Two

Star's Pov

Me and Audrey went to the dance floor that was set up outside of the back of the pack house and went to the part that was farthest away from the adults, like most are age did, and started swaying our hips to the beat of the music . I started feeling like I was in my own little world enjoying the music . I felt a pair of hands on my hips from behind me, so I jerked back and turned around. There standing was one of my least favorite people in the world, or should I say dog, and he went by the name Theo . For someone that had such a handsome face , he sure was ugly to me and a da** pig . He was always horrible to me and my friends all because I refused to be with him , and trust me, I would say no again in a heartbeat, he is a bully and just downright evil in my eyes . " Why are you being like that ? " he said mockingly . " Oh please you know now how much I hate you . You're the worse and you are nothing but dirt under my feet, '' I said with venom laced in my voice. Looking furious, he pushed me into one of the trees by the pack house so no one could see us '' I will have you one way or another ", he exclaimed . As he had me pinned against the tree, moving his free hand to the hem of my shirt and slowly tracing his fingers, I started crying, thinking in my head why can't I fight back and then the feeling of his fingers, disappeared and all I heard was what the fu**. I opened my eyes and there were my friends coming to my rescue. Cooper and Gage punched Theo a couple of times and Lily and Audrey were both by my side . " I was really trying to figure out how in the hell you got so far away ". Feeling confused , I just told her," I don't know one minute I was enjoying the music and the next Theo was coming on to me over here ''. Noticeing I just wanted to leave and get back, Lily says " All that matters is that we are here now. Let's go back before people start coming over . Gage and cooper stop it, you are going to seriously hurt him. Just drop him and come on ,'' she commanded . If it hadn't been such a shitty moment, I would be so proud of how she spoke out . Gage threw Theo on the ground and spat out " You don't deserve to touch our best friend. Your lucky this is all we did. Next time it will be worse ''. "You want to hit the Gammas son! You know how much trouble you will be in !" hollered out theo. " Not as much trouble as you would be if they found out what you did to the beta's daughter you i***t !'' said cooper .

I walked back to the backyard and just decided I would rather go sit at my favorite bench by my favorite few the pond . I loved looking at this pond with the lilies floating and the stone in the shape of a wolf spewing water out of its snout and there would be fairy lights on the bushes next to the pond. The koi fish was the prettiest to look at, so memorizing . " You look like you could use some company " said a concerned voice. Of course, it's gage he always checks up on me when he knows I'm upset. " I just honestly don't know what the hell is wrong with that dude, like he has always been annoying, but what he did today was too far and honestly it freaked me out a little because I felt so weak '', I replied. He responded, " as far as I know, you are one of the bravest and toughest girls I have ever meant and I mean it ''. Started to feel confident again. " You know what you are right. I had a moment of weakness and I never let crap get to me and I'm not about to start now ", I said with pride . "Thats the spirit little star " he said and I wrapped my arms around him to give him a big ole hug and he hugged me back and pat me . I felt a slight chill in the air but thought nothing of it for a moment, then I heard a growl so loud it almost felt as if we were in the middle of an earthquake. Hearing the sounds of glass shattering , I looked up at the pack house and what I was looking at had me mortified. Our future alpha jarod had jumped thru a glass window from the fourth floor and started sprinting towards us, I think, and I didn't know what to do . '' MINE !!! GET YOUR HANDS OFF OF HER " roared the future alpha, and the next thing I know, Gage is on the ground eight feet away from where we were standing, everyone rushing over and yelling. Everything started to get fuzzy and I felt out of breath. Seeing tiny black dots in my vision , I drifted off and succumbed.

Jarod's Pov

That motherfu**** was going to die who told him he could have his arms around my mate and, without thinking, I jumped out of my window on the fourth floor and ran towards them . I reached out and punched him dead in his nose and then hoisted him up and tossed him eight feet away from where we were standing . My fellow pack members heard the commotion and came over to see what was going on and my mom and dad were in front of them . "What in the hell is going on here !'', bellowed out my father . "OMG STAR !!" screamed out my mom and we all snapped our necks in stars direction and noticed she was lying on the ground. Within two seconds, I was at stars side and picked her up in my arms and took off in the direction of the pack hospital before anybody could say anything .

Myself , mother and father, as well as beta Thomas and my future beta Tommy , were all sitting outside star's room at the pack hospital. "So now that we know star is safe and OK, you mind telling me what the hell that was about, boy ?'', snapped my dad. Even though my dad was pissed off at me , I couldn't help it and formed the biggest smile on my face and said '' Dad, she is my mate ". Everyone around me gasped and my mom squealed like a child . I looked at beta Thomas and wondered what he was thinking because he was quiet and emotionless, which was normal for him . My mom asked me, " Son, I'm so happy for you, but that doesn't explain why you jumped from a fourth floor window. Are you crazy !". " I don't know what took over me. The reason I was in my room was because I had already found out she was my mate and I was trying to wait to tell her on her birthday so I wouldn't scare her, since she doesn't recognize the mate bond yet. But anyway, I looked out the window and he had his arms around her and I just lost it and couldn't control Nero. The next thing I know, I'm outside throwing that punk in the air ", feeling guilty only because I caused my mate to go into shock. " That's no excuse you scared your mate half to death and almost hurt one of your fellow pack mates " said my dad . Knowing I was wrong, I replied '' I'm sorry for everything I can admit when I am wrong but she is mine and no one can touch her ". " Alright, alright we know she is yours, I swear men sound like cavemen sometimes ", teasing from my mom.

Out the corner of my eye , I noticed the doctor walking out of mates room . " Alpha, she is awake now, so y'all may go inside now just don't overwhelm her ,'' said the doctor. My dad replied " OK, thank you doctor ". Without any hesitation, I walked through the door taking in the sweet smell of vanilla and strawberries coming from my beautiful mate . Before I could say anything, my mate yelled out ," Why are you here to make fun of me like you used to ? Like, how could you do that to one of my closet friends? He was trying to comfort me and here you come out of nowhere knocking him out like who does that ! You don't even like me, so why the hell do you bother to even show up ! " My heart constricted , I felt really bad because I gave her hell when we were younger. So I don't expect her to forgive me for it. I was real a**. " I'm sorry for everything I did to you, but you still need to show some respect to your mate and alpha". A look of shocked appeared on her face ,"M-m-m ate ? Your my mate ! " She turned beat red and, as always when we were kids, it made her look so cute when she blushed and I chuckled. "There is no way in hell we could be mate , you hate me , and last time I checked , I don't feel the bond yet so I can't recognize it ''. I'm pretty sure she was trying to piss me off and, to be honest, it was working, like how dare she say she wouldn't recognize the mate bond , she is mine!

Third person pov

Everyone else stepped into star's room . Tommy walked up beside star's bed and sat in the chair next to her and said '' hey baby sis, are you feeling any better ?'' Thinking about it she replied '' Yes I'm OK. There was just so much going on at once. I'm sorry that I scared everyone. But its OK now, already better ". " Well honey, whenever you feel up to it , we have a lot to talk about . Boys, if you don't mind clearing the room, please, so she can rest " said Luna Andrea . " Yes Luna, star, I love you, hope you feel better " , said her dad . He came up to her and gave her a kiss on the forehead and a quick hug and it felt nice it had been so long since she had been this close to him . Her brother did one of his signature squeeze the heck out of her hugs as she likes to put it . Everyone had left the place except for Jarod because he didn't want to leave his mate for a second , but of course, Stars was annoyed that he was still in the room. " Do you think I will just run into your arms and just forget everything like it never happened ? It doesn't work like that." star sounded earnest. " Please, I'm not asking you to forgive me, but I am asking you to give me a chance at least to show you I'm not like what I was before . I never hated you. In fact, I was obsessed with you and it scared me to be attracted to someone that was five years younger then, especially being my beta's sister ", he pleaded. " That is not my fault and that defiantly doesn't give you an excuse to be mean to me. I didn't deserve it '' she snapped . Almost in a whisper, he said " I am sorry, so sorry babe, " and got down on his knees beside her bed and begged, " although I started earlier in life , I have always wanted a mate and, at the same time, I was hoping that my mate would be you and,, in what do you know as of today my wish has come true star so please just at least go on one date with me no strings attached just dinner and talk please ". She pondered on it for a moment and wondered if he was really her mate. She will probably have to learn to get along with him. " OK, I will give it a try, but only dinner, no funny business ''. " Thats all I ask and promise no funny business babe . I have to go now. My father wants to talk to me but I will see you in a little bit beautiful '' and he leaned in close and placed a kiss on her forehead and walked out the room before she could say anything. Her face turned red and the place his lips were radiated with heat . She started thinking to herself if she was making a mistake or not, but she also was thinking that an alpha wouldn't get on his knees, so that shows a lot of sincerity . There was a knock on the door and Audrey and Lilly were inside the room and sat on both sides of star . " I asked my mom about what happened after my duma** brother jumped out the window but she just told me to ask you, so what the heck about ? '' " Well, according to your brother I'm his mate ", declared star. " No freaking way are you serious ! That makes you my sister-in-law. Omg I'm so happy for you ! ". Star sat there with a puzzled look on her face. " What's wrong star ? " " I'm worried because how your brother treated me before. He was a real a**hole and he sure acted like he hated me " . Audrey looked like there was something she wanted to say but wasn't sure how she was going to respond . After a minute, she replied " Star, I wasn't supposed to ever say anything but my brother had like the world's biggest crush on you and he got so upset whenever you were hanging out with cooper and Gage because they were boys . Give him a chance, at least he is your mate after all''. " But I don't know for sure if he is my mate or not ", said star. " Oh please star like he would ever lie about you being his mate and he really has always wanted his mate . He was an a**hat when we were kids but I guarantee you he will be a great mate or else I will kick his a** for you ", she declared. Star said " that is why we will always be best friends ". " You always wanted your mate so just go with it " said Lilly. " You two are right, so I will give it a try truly ". The girls continued talking about different things.

Alpha Jamison's Pov

After me and my Luna left the hospital , we went back to the pack house. Everyone else was probably asleep by now. It's 12:00 in the morning. I told Andrea to go ahead on to our room and gave her a kiss, letting her know I would be there in a little bit. I walked into my office and mind linked my son to let him know to meet me in my office. About 17 minutes later , Jarod shows up, probably just gotten done talking to star. "What's up dad ? " . " Son , first, I'm happy you finally found your mate and a good one at that. The second thing, there was something I wanted to talk to you about before all this happened today. Even before you had found your mate , I was planning on passing my title on to you because I feel like you deserve it. Now that you have found your Luna , it will make things so much easier. All you have to do is get your Luna to forgive you and accept ". " Trust me dad , I will never let her go and I will be the best mate I can be". "Well that is nice and all, but from the sounds of things you have some things to work on , I mean can you blame her , you terrorized her as kids ". My son put his head down in shame , I can tell he is really remorseful for how he acted years ago. Just in the five years he has been traveling, he accomplished a lot for himself. His only problem he has kept until today was not keeping it in his pants . Before he left , he was sleeping around with a lot of she-wolves from the pack, so that would be something that would need to be fixed. " She will come around boy , I have faith in you and I believe everything will work out for your mate. After all, the bond won't let you stay away from each other for long. Just be gentle with her and be honest, son ". " Thanks for that dad, now I just have to figure out how to go about doing this . I never had to chase after a girl before ". " Well, son, that's because your mate is the one and you do everything for that one ''.
