CHAPTER THREE: FIRST DAY ACTING
****I prefer calling you a beauty goddess**
SELENA'S POV
“You should put on this outfit, Lady Selena,” Omega Aria said softly as she carefully arranged a neatly ironed white shirt and blue trousers on my bed.
The previous day, I had secretly asked her to purchase male wolf outfits and a masculine wig. Today was the beginning of my freedom — and my biggest risk.
Within minutes, I was fully dressed.
“Well?” I turned slowly before her. “Do I look fake… or real?”
Omega Aria stepped closer, her sharp eyes examining me from head to toe. Then she paused and pointed at my chest.
“Those two points will expose you.”
My heart skipped.
“Oh no! What am I supposed to do?” I groaned, panic rising in my chest. “I can’t exactly cut them off!”
I held my head dramatically, searching her face for salvation.
“Raise your hands,” she instructed calmly.
She lifted my shirt and wrapped a tight breast girdle around me. She pulled it firm—too firm. My breath caught instantly.
“Aria… I can’t breathe…”
She ignored my complaints and zipped it up with practised efficiency. My chest flattened, my figure transformed.
“There,” she said proudly.
Next came my hair. She carefully tucked my long black strands beneath a brown masculine wig, adjusting every strand with gentle precision, as though preparing royalty for coronation. She brushed my brows, applied faint makeup to sharpen my features, and stepped back to admire her work.
The entire process felt like a sacred ceremony. By the time she finished, I was exhausted.
“You’re ready,” she finally declared with satisfaction. “You look completely real.”
I turned toward the mirror.
A handsome young male wolf stared back at me. White sneakers, Male uniform, Confident posture, Stunning.
If I were truly a man… I would absolutely fall in love with myself.
A laugh escaped my lips at the ridiculous thought.
The moment I arrived at Alpha’s Academy, my heart began to race wildly. Butterflies swarmed my stomach.
For the first time in my life, I was walking without fear of Chloe and Delilah’s cruel voices chasing me. No insults or humiliation. No chains disguised as family.
I wanted to run across the academy grounds and scream in happiness.
But that would look too childish. I composed myself. This was the male wolves’ quarter — a place ruled by calm confidence and effortless steeze.
So instead, I straightened my shoulders.
I slid my right hand into my pocket, walking forward with practised confidence, just like the handsome male wolves I had secretly observed. Each step felt like acting on a grand stage.
“Hello, I’m Grayson. Guess you’re new here?”
A tall, slim boy walked toward me with effortless confidence. He looked incredibly young and cool at the same time. His face carried the innocent charm of a newborn pup, soft and disarming. Thick black hair fell carelessly over his left eyebrow before curling slightly at the edges, giving him a playful, almost unreal appearance.
He stretched out his hand warmly.
“I’m Jaxon. I’m actually new here. It’s nice meeting a cool guy like you.”
I placed my palm in his, returning the pleasantry. He studied my face for a moment, then smiled mischievously.
“I prefer calling you a beauty goddess. You look stunning. Honestly, I wish I were as cute as you… But my brother took all the beauty before I was born.”
He lowered his head dramatically as if mourning a terrible loss.
I chuckled despite myself. “You’re too dramatic. You’re cute too. I’m sure every she-wolf here would gladly chase after you.”
I tapped his shoulder lightly as we began walking around the academy grounds together.
“You mentioned your brother… who is he? Did he attend this academy?” I asked, eager to keep the conversation flowing.
Grayson’s playful expression faded almost instantly.
“You really wouldn’t want to know him,” he said quietly. “He’s Alpha Lucien — the leader of this pack.”
“He’s the cruellest wolf I’ve ever known. Everything about him is terrifying. Always angry… always distant. None of his maids or guards dares look at him when he speaks.”
His hands moved animatedly as he talked, as though trying to release years of frustration.
“He’s the strongest wolf in the pack. Strict. Dangerous. No one questions him. The only person he listens to is his mother. She keeps trying to find him a Luna… but no she-wolf has ever survived long enough to reach recognition day.”
I felt a chill crawl down my spine.
“They either die… disappear… or leave before it happens. Everyone believes Alpha Lucien is the reason, even though no one knows what he actually does to them.”
He sighed deeply.
“Even though…” Grayson added softly, “he’s unbelievably handsome, no one dares stay close to him.”
I listened in stunned silence. Living with Chloe and Delilah had been like living inside a cage; I barely knew anything about the pack’s true affairs.
“Still,” he continued, his voice turning nostalgic, “I visit him sometimes. I remember the brother he used to be — gentle, kind, caring… before he became Alpha.”
There was heartbreak hidden behind his smile.
As he spoke, an unexpected curiosity stirred inside me. A strange urge to see this mysterious Alpha Lucien rose in my chest. I quickly pushed the thought away, though it stubbornly lingered in my heart.
“Alright,” Grayson suddenly said, snapping me out of my thoughts. “We have a lecture now.”
“Okay, okay,” I replied quickly, still distracted.
He grinned again. “Since we’re friends now, you should sleep in my hostel tonight.”
He said it so casually, as if suggesting dinner.
I froze instantly, crossing my arms over my chest as alarm bells rang loudly in my head.
Sleep… together? Was this guy serious?
“Sleep with you? Me? How? Do you want to ra—”
I clamped my hand over my mouth before finishing the sentence.
Grayson stared at me as I had just spoken another language.
“I don’t understand,” he said, leaning closer, confusion written all over his face. “What’s wrong with two guys sharing a room?”
He leaned forward slightly, his face suddenly too close to mine, and my heart skipped awkwardly.
“No—no, it’s fine,” I stammered quickly. “It’s just… I’ll be staying home tonight. I’m not ready for hostel life yet.”
“Alright, dude. See you later.”
He patted my girdled breast twice before walking away casually.
I remained rooted to the spot, completely stunned.
My mind struggled to process what had just happened.
“…This is molestation,” I muttered to myself, still frozen in disbelief before I finally left for the lecture room.
I sat quietly and focused in the lecture hall.
I could feel eyes on me — dozens of them. Different he-wolves watched me openly, their gazes curious, assessing, almost predatory. I pretended not to notice and fixed my attention on the enormous lecturer standing before us. Broad shoulders and heavy muscles. His deep voice filled the room.
“I will continue from where we stopped last time. As a male werewolf, you never lower your gaze while speaking to anyone. You look straight into a wolf’s eyes. Never panic. Never step back.”
He paced slowly across the front of the class.
“Show confidence. Display strength. Make she-wolves crave your presence. Speak boldly. Never allow yourself to appear weak.”
I stared at him thoughtfully.
No wonder the male wolves behaved so aggressively… so arrogantly. This was what they were taught — dominance, pride, intimidation. A small smile tugged at my lips. So this is their training.
Memories surfaced instantly — the academy I once attended with Chloe.
Our female lecturers had taught the complete opposite.
Never look directly into a male wolf’s eyes.
Lower your gaze. Walk gracefully.
Swing your hips when passing a male wolf. I almost laughed under my breath.
Two different worlds… two different rules.
Strange though somehow… fascinating.
For the first time, the academy felt interesting.
After the lecture ended, I headed straight home.
But the moment I stepped inside, the atmosphere felt heavy.
“Auren, what happened? You don’t look well.”
Omega Aria stood beside her, gently rubbing her back, her expression filled with concern.
Auren looked furious — and broken at the same time.
“Alpha Lucien wants us to wed,” she said, her voice trembling with anger. “He wants to claim me. I blame the Moon Goddess for binding me to him.”My heartbeat skipped. That name again, Alpha Lucien.
The ruthless Alpha Grayson had spoken about earlier.
I froze completely as realisation settled in.
“Don’t tell me…” I whispered, eyes widening. “You’re his fated mate, Auren?”
She sighed heavily, exhaustion replacing her anger.
“I’ve hidden it for a long time. But during the full moon ball… when we met… he recognised the bond immediately.”
She began pacing the room restlessly.
“I don’t want him. I refuse to be claimed by him. Even if he says it will only last one year before I’m allowed to leave… I still don’t want it.”
Her voice cracked slightly.
Fear, Pain and Defiance. All mixed together.
“Maybe I should run away from the pack,” she said suddenly, determination burning in her eyes.
My heart clenched.
“No, Auren,” I said quickly. “You can’t do that.”
An idea formed in my mind — reckless, dangerous… but impossible to ignore.
I stepped closer to her.
“Let me go instead.”
Both Auren and Omega Aria stared at me in shock.
“He won’t notice,” I continued. “We look almost identical. One year isn’t forever.”
My vo
ice steadied as the decision settled deep inside me.
“I will take your place.”
I lifted my chin firmly.
“I will wed Alpha Lucien.”
