Healing DreamsMina coughed and water spewed from her mouth. Her saviour gently lifted her upper body, holding her as she leaned over the edge of the wooden dinghy to clear her lungs of lake. She vomited until all that remained was a wet cough. Behind her, the man spoke. ‘It’ll be fine. We’ll get you somewhere safe, Mina.’ His voice was reassuringly familiar. Mina pushed her wet hair from her forehead and looked around. ‘Luka. How did you find me?’ Her throat felt raw. ‘Better?’ he asked, offering her a kerchief to wipe her mouth. Gently he wrapped a blanket around her shoulders against the night air, then eased her down so she was lying in the prow of the boat. He slid his shirt off and tore a long strip, using it to bind her thigh. The sight of the oozing wound made Mina feel dizzy. Lu
