I stood up from the couch, my heart pounding with a sudden, desperate urgency, and marched up the stairs and down the hallway toward Katherine’s room. I had to tell her – I had to be honest with her, for once. Tell her that yes, Diana and I had a past, and that I’ve been hanging onto that past for far too long, and at her detriment, and that she didn’t deserve it, because she was a beautiful, amazing woman.
