Carl and Harry walked to the State Administration Building across the plaza from Police Headquarters and took the elevator to the Office of State Supply, which was located on the fifteenth floor. They had to wait to speak to Pam Watson, who was still in a meeting when they arrived.
‘I suppose you want to talk about John,’ said Pam, when they were seated in her office.
‘We’re trying to establish Mr Drake’s movements in the days before his death,’ said Carl. ‘When was the last time you saw him?’
‘Last Friday, just before I left the office.’
‘He didn’t come into work on Monday?’
‘I believe he was here but I wasn’t in Monday, and he hasn’t been in since. I mean, he didn’t come in after Monday.’
‘Is there anyone who can confirm that he was here Monday?’
