DC Templar asked for a moment of Carl’s time as he walked past her desk on his way back from lunch on Wednesday.
‘What’s on your mind, Lisa?’
‘I’ve been running some background checks on the people on that committee at State Supply. They appear to have a long history.’
‘Oh, how long?’
‘Right back to their days at City Girls High.’
‘Intriguing, but not all that surprising given the size of this town.’
‘Yes, that was my initial thinking as well, but then I discovered that most of them had joined State Supply around the same time, and that prompted me to consider if there was some other connection.’
