“You think I don't know that?” Bill smiled at Sally and put his arm around her. “She's the most wonderful thing that's happened to me in a long time.” Mr Smithers then asked Judy onto the dance floor. He felt it was his duty to mingle with as many of his staff and their partners as possible. When the band struck up the next dance, Bill and Sally took to the floor once more. This time however, many other members of staff joined them. Later during the evening they were joined by the Chairman of the Company. “Don't stand up,” he said, as the three men started to rise. “This is a social occasion.” Pulling up a chair, he sat next to Bill.
