At Pizza House, Bill avoided using the table they had used when Sally had been with them. He was missing her already and decided he would ring her just as soon as Joey had gone to bed. They finished their meal and returned to the car. “We'll go home now Joey and put up the tree. We have some decorations in the loft and if we need anymore we'll buy them tomorrow when we're out shopping.” Pulling onto the drive, Bill stared at the front door, half expecting Sally to come out to greet him. She didn't of course; she was back at her flat. After all, hadn't he dropped her there that very morning? Joey jolted him from his thoughts. “Come on Daddy.
