“You'll do as you're told,” Michael yelled into the phone He wasn't used to his daughter defying him. “Who is this man? He's using you, Sally. Can't you see that? You don't know what you're doing. You have no idea how scheming men can be. We know what's best for you. You need us to look out for you. Have your cases ready, we'll be over there as soon as we can.” He softened his tone a little, “You know Peter will be so pleased to see you again? He's always talking about you. Can't you see that you and he would be good together?”
Sally was furious. “Dad, you're not listening to me. I've told you, I'm not coming back. And whose fault is it if I don't know enough about men? No boy was ever allowed to get near me. You and my brothers saw to that. For once in your lives, let me be my own person
