EIGHT: LYCAN KING’S POV.
I felt so happy knowing fully well that she loved me, even though she didn’t say it—
The fact that she hugged me gave me the feeling that she felt the same way for me.
“Thanks a lot,” I thought and reciprocated the hug with a wide smile on my face.
Everything about this lady gave me joy, and I swore to do anything within my power to protect her—and that what happened to my late mate wouldn’t happen again.
“I’ve accepted you as my mate for a while now,” She said breaking the hug, as she locked her gaze with mine.
“Thanks a lot,” I smiled widely, but she covered my mouth with her palm.
“I’m the one who’s ought to be saying these to you,” She said and I chuckled.
“Catherine, I swear that I’ll do everything within my power to protect you,” I said to her, and she smiled before hugging me again.
“So we are soon to be parents?” She chuckled, as she rubbed her tummy—while I held her hands tightly.
Over excitement was an understatement to what I felt that moment.
“Yes!” I said and she chuckled—
“Can you give me a tour in your pack please,” She pleaded, and I nodded.
I just couldn’t bring myself to say no—
“Let me get my coat,” I said and rushed towards my chamber but was shocked when I noticed that she stride behind me slowly.
“Well she had the right,” I thought with a sly smile, and picked a coat as soon as I entered my room.
I was met with the shock of my life when I sighted Lily on my bed, but what shocked me the more was that Catherine was behind me.
I was worried that she’d think something else, so I knew that I needed to do something about her.
“What are you doing here?” I asked through gritted teeth, as I clenched my fists really tightly.
Seeing her face alone was enough to ignite the fury within me, but seeing her in my room was something else.
“Are you in you senses?” I asked when I had gotten frustrated, still she refused to say a word.
“Calm down please,” I felt her palm on my shoulder, and surprisingly—I was calmed just with her touch.
“Where’s the coat?” She asked and I pointed at it, she simply nodded and went to get it shocking me.
Immediately Catherine got the coat, lily stood from the bed and walked towards her like she was being controlled.
“Who are you?” She asked, her eyes blazing with anger.
It was evident from Catherine’s reaction that she was scared, and that was the last thing I wanted.
I wouldn’t want anyone to know that she was scared, as I have always wanted a strong and not a weak mate.
Walking towards them, I appeared before Catherine and faced Lily with my anger getting to its peak.
“Get out,” I said, as I clenched my fists.
I wouldn’t want to raise my hand on a woman, and not in the presence of my mate.
“I’m going nowhere,” She spat angrily, and that was it.
I held her tightly and tried to pull her out of the room, but she tried beating me—but I was way stronger than her, so I pulled her out of the room, locking her outside in the process.
“Who’s she?” I heard Catherine’s voice behind me, and I sighed deeply.
I was expecting this question, in fact who wouldn’t?
Not after the stunts that she just pulled up here!
“She’s my late mate’s sister who died—so since then she has been blaming me for the death of her sister, and has threatened me to marry her,” I explained and she gasped loudly, covering her mouth with her palm.
“Are you for real?” She asked, and I nodded and she sighed deeply.
“Unbelievable,” She muttered and shook her head.
“Let’s go,” She said and walked out, just to meet Lily there waiting impatiently for us.
“I’ll so deal with you,” She said pointing at me, and suddenly shot a deadly glare at Catherine.
“And you!” She said, taking a slow but steady stride towards Catherine.
“Stay away from him if you don’t want me to make your life a living hell,” She said, and I sighed deeply—but I was shocked when I heard her say.
“You can do nothing—Lily,” She said, and pulled me out of the place shocking me the more.
I have never believed that she was this outspoken—but was also happy that she did it for me.
“Thank you,” I flashed her a smile which she reciprocated happily releasing my hand in the process.
“Let’s go,” She said, and I was the one that held her hand this time around.
We walked out of the mansion, into the pack.....without the help of the guards.
“I’d like to see the forest,” She said and I thought deeply wondering if I should grant her the request.
I knew how difficult it was refusing to grant a request of your loved one—but what else could I do—
It was very dangerous, but still!
I was capable of saving her incase of any impending danger so that was it—
“Fine,” I smiled, and pulled her towards the direction of the forest.
It was located at the outskirts of the pack, but still—
I was going to do anything for her, and that was why I went with her—
My aura was enough to make them suffocate.
We arrived at the forest, and she walked forward inhaling the air as a smile appeared on her lips.
She kept on walking forward, while I walked behind her quickly—
Suddenly, I had this strange feeling—
“They’re here,” I thought and called out to Catherine.
“Come here,” I said, and she rushed towards me as I held her tightly.
“Show yourself,” I said, as I glanced around still holding onto Catherine really tightly.
Then they appeared, but they turned out to be rogues.
“Why?” This was the only thing I managed to say, but still they refused to leave.
Without saying anything—they rushed me and tried to punch me but I was quick to defeat them.
They were just three in number, so it was an easy thing for me.
I noticed the look of fear on Catherine’s face, but still—
“What are you doing here?” I asked them, still they didn’t reply, and I held his hand tightly—my claws delving deeply into his skin.
He let out a scream of pain, then the remaining two ran away in fright—
“Who sent you?” I glared at him angrily, still he didn’t talk and I continued till he couldn’t take the pain anymore—then he opened his mouth to talk.....
